“old charm boston in fantastic central location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2011

I spent months reading reviews on Boston hotels, before choosing the Lenox. The hotel is full of old Bostonian charm, the staff are ultra friendly and helpful, during your stay you feel as though you are part of a special Boston club. At first we were a little disappointed with our room, with noisy air con, water pipes, chintzy fabric, smallish bathroom but after a few hours we decided that this was all part of the charm. The location is great for exploring all of Boston by foot yet only 200 yards from underground if you want to travel furhter and quicker. Complimentary tea and coffee and afternoon iced tea was very welcome and unexpected. We ate one night in the Hotel's Irish bar and the food was well priced and tasty, if we had stayed for more than 3 nights we would have checked out the hotel's other bars but there is so much to do in Boston we found we did not have much time to hang out at the hotel but the hotel was still a great place to come home to each night.

Spent one night in this rather swank hotel in Boston's Back Bay area. 3 minute walk from the Prudential Center and Copley Place. 15 minute walk to Fenway Park. Room was large and very comfortable. Had a Bose ipod dock for charging/listening to your ipod. Service was very accommodating and eager to please. Had a decent view of the Charles river from the 10th floor. Fitness center was nice. Adjoining restaurant Solas, accessible from the inside the hotel as well as Boylston St., was very good. Did not eat at City Table (the restaurant IN the hotel). I was very comfortable in this hotel and whole-heartedly recommend it.

We had to go to Boston for a family wedding and were very happy we chose the Lenox. The Lenox has everything you need and is a great value. Two restaraunts/bars with an authentic Irish bar on the street level - all had great service, execellent atmosphere and great food and drinks. The Hotel is in nice condition, the staff were all very helpful and it is located in the heart of the back bay. You are within walking distance of a lot of great spots and just a taxi away from anything else. We booked on Expedia because of th elow price - which is usually a pain to do. The Lenox said to just call them directly next time and they will match any price we could get online. I would stay there again when in Beantown for sure . . .

It's hard to add anything to all the great reviews of the Lenox, but I had to add my praise to this special place. It's difficult to describe, but the Lenox has a different feel than any other hotel. We felt at home here for many reasons but most of all it comes down to the staff. They are all so welcoming - it is very apparent that The Lenox truly loves their guests and makes them feel that way. Every person, without exception, was friendly and very helpful. It was our first trip to Boston, celebrating our 35th anniversary, and we received an upgrade to a corner suite - it was stunning. Beautiful furnishings and a wonderful comfortable bed with high quality linens. We enlisted the help of the concierge several times and received accurate and helpful advise. The location is excellent, very convenient. We were also very happy with our choice of staying in the Back Bay area. We took at 2 day trip to Cape Ann (highly recommended) and when we returned, we stayed at a hotel on the waterfront for our last night since it was very close to the airport. Although beautiful, it lacked the charm and grace of The Lenox and the hustle and bustle of the area was totally different than the Back Bay.

Praise to City Table, too, for an excellent quick breakfast every morning. We usually avoid hotel restaurants since they are often overpriced and pretentious but not City Table. It was very convenient, delicious, and highly recommended.

We are so thrilled that we chose the Lenox for our vacation and hope to return to the beautiful Boston area soon. When we do, The Lenox will be our hotel.

This hotel is great ! Best location, best staff, best ambiance . . . This is a wonderful older hotel with incredible charm yet all of the amenities of a new hotel ! The minute I first walked in the door I was greeted with this fresh clean smell ! I wish my house smelled like that ! There are cookies (and tea) every afternoon which made my children thrilled. The concierge staff are incredibly helpful with advice and arrangements - my husband and son went to a Boston Red Sox game and we all took a duck tour. All of the staff is wonderful - if you ask for anything, it is delivered to your room in minutes ! The room comes with a mini refrigerator which really helps a family. Each day the housekeeping staff supplies it with complimentary water bottles. There are also complimentary water bottles in the gym. The location is great- I felt perfectly safe venturing out with my daughters alone in the evening for dinner in the neighborhood while my husband and son chose other activities. There are many nice and very reasonably priced restaurants within a 2 block range. There are also three drugstores and a grocery within a 3 minute walk. My husband and son easily walked to Fenway (even in the rain). On the days you want to stay close to your hotel, you have shopping (at the Prudential Center and Newbury St. ) and attractions (Prudential Skywalk, Boston Library, Copley Square, beautiful old churches, etc) right at your doorstep. And, the Lenox is one block from the "T" for your real touring days ! One of my favorite things about this hotel is the charming elevator - you will just have to see it to see what I mean ! I hope that we will be able to return!

Stayed a couple of nights and enjoyed the atmosphere in the hotel. We enjoyed the food and the surroundings. Rooms were large and airy, also relatively quite for such a central location. The downside are the bathrooms which, although clean, definitely need to be upgraded.

Traveled to Boston this weekend with my daughter for her birthday trip and what a great time we had. I chose to stay at The Lenox Hotel solely based on other reviews and I'm so glad I trusted what others had to say. We had a truly spectacular weekend from the minute we landed to the minute we left. The entire hotel staff needs recognition by name but that's not possible. We were treated like we were the only guest in town....everything we needed, wanted or asked for was handled with a gracious smile! We can't wait to go back!!
