My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in January. We were there for an exhibit at the Musuem of Fine Arts. Because of the time of year we got a good rate. The building is old which is both good and bad, meaning it is architecturally beautiful but it also provides for some odd shaped guest rooms (ie with less than functional space). The decor is traditional. The service was great, with staff friendly and helpful. The location can not be beat, right in the heart of the Back Bay. And the restaurant is lovely; we had breakfast there 2 mornings.

Stayed a week while on a work trip. Excellent rooms with extremely friendly staff and most importantly its at a great location. Hotel also has a nice pub downstairs which serves a nice spread of bar food. Staff at the door and reception are extremely charming and helpful. Enjoyed my stay very much.

I spent 9 nights at the Lenox this August with my husband and son 17. We were given two rooms on the 11th floor which is allergy free, great. The staff was helpful and friendly, the service accurate and punctual. The rooms have big flat tv screens and music players. The restaurants are very nice, good food and not so expensive. In the morning you find bananas and hot drinks in the lobby for free, and there is free wifi in all the rooms and the hotel. The location is just perfect for visiting Boston, just close to everything and to the metro station. We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to go back.

Room Tip: The 11th floor is special, but all rooms are the right size and so to be said for the bathrooms that...

We stayed in the junior suite w double queens and the room was perfect! The decor is very beautiful and warm. The fireplace and chandelier made the room feel very elegant.
The staff is very helpful and knowledgable and there are a lot of them so you don't have to wait around at all. My husband especially enjoyed that every time you come and go the staff on the steps outside wish you a good day and greet you when you come back, which we def will do hopefully sometime soon :)

The Lenox has been my favorite hotel in Boston for some years now. It has become my home away from home! I love its friendliness and its old world charm. The rooms are large and well equipped, especially the corner rooms with the fire places. Often I have been given upgrades to these coveted rooms. On one occasion last winter, after I had returned from a performance of the Boston Ballet, I asked whether I could have a fire in my room, even though it was after 11:00 PM. No problem, one of the staff, who overheard my request at the front desk, said he would come up with some logs and light it for me. At the same time, the night clerk offered me a complimentary glass of champagne to take up to my room!

Room service for breakfast is a joy, when I usually order the generous-sized fruit plate with yogurt and coffee. But it is also available 24 hours per day for other meals or snacks. Their onion soup, especially, is very good and a meal in itself.

I also like the valet parking on arrival at the Lenox, if I am in a hurry. There is a convenient parking facility nearby on Exeter Street.

The Lenox is loaded with historic character, plenty of charm and has a great location in the Boston Back Bay. We could easily walk to Fenway, to the Boston Commons, and everything in the Back Bay area. Rooms were very nicely done, with wi-fi, waters, great amenities.

We had received high recommendations on TripAdvisor for Lenox and wanted a Boston vibe so went ahead and booked this.

However were disappointed by the room and the staff. The room was large and sparsely furnished but the furniture looked old. Understand that the hotel is to have a historic feel to it but it seemed that the furniture had not been polished for years.

Staff was cold and the concierge in particular was unhelpful. Not sure if she was having an off day but was not able to get her help on something as basic as the freedom trail. We finally did a very economical and lively walking tour of the freedom trail but that is something we just stumbled on.

Sadly the hotel is overpriced and the only redeeming factor is the location.

Room Tip: Overlooking the street for a view
