“Love the atmosphere & location”
Reviewed 3 August 2013 via mobile

The Lenox is a beautiful historic hotel at Copley Square - a great location and accessible by subway less than a block away. With its expensive rooms it's geared toward business travelers and well-heeled visitors. There's a lively buzz in the lobby, helpful and friendly staff, and comfortable, spacious rooms. I ordered room service breakfast which was delicious, delivered hot and on-time. My only complaints (not fatal flaws): no mini-bar or coffee maker in the room, no way to keep the walk-in closet door open (so it kept closing behind me when I walked in, a bit claustrophobic!) and no newspaper at the door (not even with room service). I would stay here again as long as someone else is paying!

It has been a while since we've been to this hotel but we recently stayed for one night on our way out of Boston. Easy everything!...Walking distance to many key areas such as “The Common”, a couple of malls, a myriad of restaurants and of course "Newbury Street". We did not have a lot of time but we walked, had dinner, ice cream and all within steps of the hotel. Also very close is Fenway Park if you’re in town and can catch a Red Sox game. As others have stated, the hotel's classic or traditional decoration is very inviting as well as relaxing and the rooms are indeed larger than in many other Boston hotels that are in the area. This time I had a very good rate and once again it was because I reserved well ahead of time. That is always my advice to travelers in regards to hotels in general. For the best rates you need to plan ahead and always inquire about special packages and don’t forget to include/inquire about discounts available through club memberships such as AAA. In many instances, the AAA membership (for example) will allow you to make a reservation without having to give a deposit! There's nothing wrong with reserving a couple of months ahead of time. Always check and make sure you understand the cancellation policies and be sensitive to the establishment by canceling (if you need to) as soon as you either find something else or no longer need the reservation. Also, when you do reserve with plenty of time do go back and check to see if rates have improved or if new packages have become available.

Back to the Lenox: Once again, do consider/look at the Lenox if you plan on being in Boston, it is a great choice!

As Always,
Travel Well My Friends!

Room Tip: Reserve well ahead of your visit and inquire about any special packages that may be available

If you are looking for a contemporary setting forget it, but if classic grandeur is your style, then this hotel is for you! Nice well appointed rooms, great beds and bathrooms! Don't miss breakfast at the City Table- the buttermilk pancakes are highly recommended.
Love the smell in the lobby , they sell the cables but unfortunately not the room spray.

Boston is a city easy to navigate and the Lenox offers an exceptional base for your explorations. Within walking distance of all the city has to offer, it is a welcoming hotel with large (for Boston standards) rooms, helpful staff, and a very relaxed "vibe". The lobby bar takes you back in time for a quiet moment before selecting one of many restaurants in the neighbourhood. Valet parking is easy - allow about ten minutes for vehicle retrieval. Want a relaxed breakfast, head over to Flour on Clarendon - a few blocks from the hotel. For baseball fans, you are a 15 minute walk from Fenway.

Room Tip: Don't be concerned about rooms close to the elevator - very quiet.

All good: clean, decoration, amazing old renovated building, size of the rooms. Location is great. But concierges are not very kind and helpful (reception staff are better than them) and forget the breakfast (expensive and slow service)

We stayed at the Lenox during Independence Day week. The hotel is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The staff were always available and attended to our needs as required. The hotel's location was perfect to access all major sites which made walking easy (depite the heat!). Close to Fenway Park, an easy stroll to the start of the Freedom Trail and the Charles River just a few blocks away. Plenty of restaurant/cafe choices on Boylston and Newberry Streets. If you're travelling by train to Boston, the hotel is an easy walk (less than 10mins with bags) from Back Bay station. Terriific!

This lovely older hotel has a lot of character and charm and is situated perfectly in Back Bay for all your tourist plans. T stop one block, Shaws grocery 2 blocks, Fenway is 20 minute walk. But it's the staff that really sets this hotel apart. Thankful for the fridge, the free waters and coffee in the lobby. So much better than the cheap coffee makers in rooms at other hotels. The gym is small but adequate. The only downside is the problematic wifi and slow business computers. I love the Lenox. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Although this is a pet friendly hotel, you couldn't tell. But for those with severe allergies, y...
