“Very friendly, great location”
Reviewed 12 January 2014 via mobile

We stayed here in early January after doing a lot of research on Boston hotels and are glad we did. It's a lovely hotel in a great location for bars and restaurants and only a 10 or so minute from the start of the down down freedom trail.

It has two nice bars off the lobby which are great for a warm up drink before going out and/or a nightcap when getting back.

The bathtubs are a tad on the small size, but not the end of the world. The rooms are cosy and comfortable.

It isn't as good value for money as Montreal hotels from where we had just come, but thats Boston. Would definitely stay here if we visit Boston again.

This hotel was outstanding! It has an excellent historic feel. The lobby is elegant with it's stunning chandeliers and period furniture. Parking is very expensive, we paid around $35.00 a day for the lot next door. We left the car there and walked or took taxis everywhere.
At first, we were in a room where the bed was not as advertised- it had said pillow top mattress but it was not. Since I have a bad back, I was disappointed. I called the front desk and they moved us to another room. It was absolutely gorgeous! Very clean and well appointed. Gorgeous, clean marble bathroom also. I hope to go to Boston again and stay at the Lenox

We spent 3 nights at this hotel in December. Started off with a drama in that we left our document/computer bag in the taxi to the hotel. Added to which it was a Sunday morning. Ashley one of the concierges was excellent and we managed to retrieve our vey important piece of luggage.
All staff are incredibly helpful and very friendly including the bell hops. Nina on the concierge desk had arranged several things for us in advance and again was very helpful.
We really liked the bar in the hotel and our room was lovely, we had selected a corner room with a fireplace.
Very close to Copley Place and the Prudential Centre so good location. We will certainly stay at this hotel if we are in Boston again.

Room Tip: Corner room with fireplace is a good size room.

Spent an exceptionally comfortable weekend, enjoying the fire in the lobby, cosseted by a responsive, smart staff that anticipated our needs and offered outstanding service. Room spacious and attractive. Terrific location near Newbury Street boutiques, recommended restaurants, and a pleasant walk to Boston Common. Delicious food in both the Irish pub, a lively spot, and the main dining room, City Hall. Owned by one family for 75 years who set a high standard for everything in this beautiful hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights over New Year's for First Night with our children (10 and 13). Location was great for taking part in First Night activities, we didn't have to walk far in the cold...Negative was we were in the middle of it all....BUT, our room faced the back of the Lenox...surprisingly quiet for NYE. Although the rooms can use an update, staff was wonderful, room was large (stayed in Queen/Queen Junior Suite) and comfortable. Will definitely come back.

We decided to plan a trip for a couple nights between Christmas and New Years. While The Lenox was not our first choice, we a so glad that we lucked out! This hotel was PERFECT! From the moment our taxi pulled up in front to our check out, everything was unbelievable. The staff were always warm and friendly. The fireplace in the lobby was warm and inviting after a day of sightseeing or shopping. The location was unbelievable. Walking distance to almost everything. Although we had to cut our trip short, we will definitely stay at the Lenox again. Its now our go-to hotel in Boston. We've staying in a lot of hotels all over the world, and this one exceeded our expectations. Worth every penny!
