“Nice hotel but been to better”

Let me start by saying the hotel was extremely clean and the staff was very helpful. The rooms are small and you should make sure to ask for a nice view or you may be looking at a brick wall for $400 a night. I was a little disappointed that I told them I was coming for my wedding anniversary, but yet not one person mentioned it nor said happy anniversary! Nothing was excellent about the hotel, just very nice, clean and comfortable bedding.

Room Tip: You need to ask for a room with a " city" view or you may be staring at a brick wall like...

We loved the location of the Lenox for our recent trip to Boston. We stayed for two nights. I gave it a three since the Lenox advertises that it is a "luxury" hotel, but I found the luxury part to be sporadic. Since I am a light sleeper, we requested a room as far as possible from elevators and ice machines. Our room was almost right across from the elevator. Since the hotel was fully booked, there were no other rooms available or I would have switched. Since we made our reservations well in advance, I was surprised that they asked for any special requests and then didn't honor them. The walls are thin so you will hear your neighbors talking (etc.). Room was beautiful, but the bathroom was "under construction?" The walls and ceiling in many areas were repaired but not painted. The tub caulk was moldy and old and should have been replaced last year. The bathroom vent fan had not been cleaned in a while. The vanity base looked like it has been sanded and scraped but not painted. Housekeeping was perfect so the room was very clean (the moldy caulk is not the housekeeper's fault). The lobby was beautiful and the rooms nicely appointed. The staff was helpful and courteous. We had breakfast there our last day and it was OK but nothing spectacular. We had had better breakfasts on Newbury Street on the other two mornings. I do not think I will stay there again and will try other places. For the price I expected more.

Room Tip: Call in advance to make certain that any room request you make is honored. They did not honor my req...

Green Features: They ask that you reuse towels by hanging them. For a two-night stay I like this practice.

Great experience starting with reservation. Rooms are really nice with comfortable bed, flat screen tv, and the classic room has plenty of space for 1-2 people.
Staff was superb, always saying" good morning and good evening", and" is there anything I can help you with"?
Located in Back Bay area about 8 blocks from Fenway Park. Convenient to "T" about 1/2 block away. (subway)
Lot's of nice restaurants and shops and close to most historical points for sight seeing.

Room Tip: Corner room on higher floors are quiet.

I was on a business trip and spent 3 nights in total at the Lennox before and after staying at Harvard. This was my first trip to Boston and the Lenox lives up to all the reviews. A wonderful hotel, perfect location for exploring gorgeous Newbury street, and for walking further to Boston Commons and the freedom trail. Rooms are well appointed, service is fabulous and the hotel is safe for women travellers on their own. I hope to come back again soon!

Beautifully decorated hotel in a superb position. Staff are very friendly and eager to please. Our standard room was compact but extremely comfortable. Highly recommended. Did not have breakfast in hotel but menu looked good.

The Lenox Hotel was extremely accommodating during our weekend stay. I can't speak highly enough for the front desk and concierge staff, as they were always attentive and willing to help provide suggestions and T stop routes. Also, the beds in the hotel as very comfortable. This hotel is in the prime locate for tourists to get around and see the sites!

location is perfect .. right on the main street for shopping and restaurants with a metro stop within 3 min. walking distance .. the hotel is about a 25 min. taxi ride from logan airport and costs ~USD 25 one-way ..

a big room, a complimentary snack box (one-time upon arrival) and daily bottles of water + complimentary morning coffee/tea/bananas and afternoon cold drink/small cakes (on the day i was actually there to see) in the lobby + complimentary wifi (i wouldn't have stayed here if it was additional - i have now banned hotels that make u pay extra for wi-fi) ..

nice big room with a bit of a view .. 2 queen size beds which were comfy enough albeit a bit hard for my back - but that is personal .. turn-down service with lindt chocolates offered ;-)

our package was without breakfast, but we did go in-house on the first day which came to ~USD 30 for 2 p. + tip so we didn't go again .. the food was ok, but not good enough for the price paid .. plenty of other (cheaper) options right outside the hotel !

the gym is small and in the basement with a small window, but adequate, towels availabe on-site, but no water fountain (maybe an idea?) .. i forgot my bottle in my room, so my work-out was shorter than planned, due to no water ..

they offer free usage of their computer, printer (business center) for flight check-ins, etc. which is a nice touch (some crazy hotels want u to pay for this service) !

the concierge was helpful in getting us a table at the resto deuxave (do urself a favour and eat there (see my review of it) - it is simply amazing food) !! - all the staff at the hotel were friendly and polite .. we didn't try the bar ..

tiny negatives :

housekeeping was quite loud in the corridor and before 8 am which i consider too early - i did ask them to lower their speaking amongst themselves but u shouldn't need to have to ask in a 4* ..

it's an old hotel, so a bit of noise issues between rooms and slow lifts at times, but nothing that ruined our stay ..

however the bathroom did not have enough space to hang, place our products and things .. a square meter more and shelves around the wash basin (take it off the size of the huge room) would have been prefered .. and an in-room kettle + coffee and tea would have been nice too ..

i did not like their signature ambiance perfume (check out that of abercrombie) .. LOL

overall a very good stay - a later check-out would have been appreciated but it wasn't available as they were fully booked, but they kept our luggage free-of charge (yes some hotels do charge) .. i can't compare to any other boston hotels as i haven't stayed in any .. but at USD 275.- per night excl. tax, excl. breakfast rather on the dearer side but i guess that is boston in summer ..

p.s. we loved boston ..
