From checking in to checking out we could not fault the staff at the Langham, not that we wanted too! Our room on the ninth floor was comfortable the towels were large and plenty of them. The concierge staff were very helpful with advice and directions. We found the hotel to be in an ideal location for places we wanted to visit in Boston. We used all three restaurants for either breakfast or evening meal and really enjoyed it all especially the sharing plates at Bonds. The reason I've not rated the hotel a five is because the internet connection we found to be poor for a hotel of this type, a minor thing but frustrating when it takes ages to log in.

We booked this hotel to add an extra night onto our trip after a cruise. The main purpose of our stay was to get a good night's sleep before an overnight flight the following day.

Unfortunately, although the hotel itself was well appointed and the staff couldnt have been more helpful, our room (335) was right outside the lifts and we had one of the worst night's sleeps we've ever had in a hotel.

All throughout the night, people were coming and going around the lifts and making noise. In particular at 3am we were awoken by a very noisy trio who had obviously visited a room down the corridor. One of the girls ran back (noisily) and the remaining trio continued to have a very noisy conversation right outside the lifts and our room. Eventually a man further down the corridor opened his door and asked them to be quiet, only to be met by a barrage of abuse from one of the couple. My partner had gotten up to go see who was making the noise, but upon hearing this we decided not to poke our noses out.

Needless to say it took us a good couple of hours to get back to sleep, only to be awoken again by people leaving the hotel early in the morning.

Our room was 335, and I believe all floors are laid out the same - I would recommend asking to be moved if you find yourself in a room close to the elevators as you will likely have a very poor night's sleep. We complained in the morning to the front desk when we were checking out, and were told that if we had complained during the night, they would have moved us elsewhere however at 3am when you're half asleep, undressed and have your belongings strewn all over the room, the last thing you want to do is to start packing to move rooms.

Unfortunately as a result our stay was very poor. The main purpose of a hotel room is somewhere to sleep, and we didnt get that. I appreciate that some rooms have to be around the lifts but we left feeling more tired than when we arrived.

The hotel is a short walk (15 minutes?) to Quincy market, and around 10 minutes to Macy's and Downtown Crossing, however be aware that the city of Boston seems to shut down at around 10pm, unless you want to pay a cover charge to get into a simple bar (e.g. the Bell in Hand and the others in that small pocket of land). Even the Cheers bar on the outside of Fenieul Market Hall closed down at midnight.

Having stayed at the Renaissance Waterfront earlier in our trip, in comparison I would not stay at the Langham again.

Room Tip: Ask to be moved immediately if you find yourself in a room anywhere near the lifts.

My two daughters and I stayed here for a family visit and bridal shower. The staff was super cordial and helpful. They had some of the friendliest staff I have encountered anywhere, and I am a seasoned traveler. The room was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. This is an older hotel, but everything has been redone and decorated beautifully. The beds were also extremely comfortable. There is easy access to main roads from this locations also.

Room Tip: We were on a higher floor away from the elevator and it was very quiet.

I stay in Boston for business once or twice a year. This was the first and last visit to The Langham. I was in a room near the Fitness Centre. The room was noisy and poorly laid out and the decor was dated. Perhaps I was just unlucky?

I have only amazing things to say about this hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful from the start. They helped us with tours, storing luggage, restaurant recommendations and they were just so wonderful with it all. We did the afternoon tea which I'd recommend for anyone to try. The rooms were clean, have the best products to use in there and the beds were so cozy! We loved the macarons that they sell in the bar area - definitely go buy a few, they were so delicious!

Room Tip: I can't imagine there being a bad room. We got a room by the elevator and I was nervous it woul...

Stayed in one of those last minute deals, otherwise, I wouldn't have paid the original price. It is expensive but it is a luxury hotel. The staff was overly nice. We checked in early and had them hold on to our bags with no issues or delays. Request a room (if able to) that looks over Pearl as there is an open park and you can see lots of downtown. Everything about the room was top notch, though a little small but what you'd expect in an older hotel. The only issue I have was the price, which was mostly avoided using a last minute deal.

Room Tip: Look over Pearl, there is an open park that direction.

Under most circumstances my mother and I would never stay at a hotel like this but when you wait until the last minute to book a room your choices are limited and expensive! We weren't too thrilled about the price but from the moment we were dropped at the entry to the minute we left for the airport we smiled! It didn't matter that we showed up in jeans and tussled hair; we were treated with the same courtesy, warmth, and kindness as the woman with the Gucci bag and the man with the Breitling watch! Our favorite memory is how our jaws dropped when we opened the door to our room and had to tilt our heads back to see the top of the towering ceilings. The best part was feeling like little kids on an Easter egg hunt as we kept finding the joys of simple amenities like slippers, chocolate on the bed, extra large towels, a plethora of quality pens ( we took every one, hee hee) but it was the umbrella in the corner that made the whole experience worth the money. Why? Have you ever heard an eighty-year-old woman say, "There's even a f@!%ing umbrella!" and then hold it above her head like Mary Poppins?? WORTH THE LAUGH!!! Okay, on the serious side it is in a wonderful location to explore Boston on foot and we highly recommend the Sunday breakfast brunch even if you don't stay at the hotel. It surpassed all our expectations and was less expensive than the one at home. If you book ahead you won't have to pay 1/2 a semester's tuition to stay and if you can afford a little luxury...enjoy the ambience, the staff, and the umbrella!!! Donald Trump ain't got nothin' on us!
