“Beautiful room, service a bit cool”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

My first impression upon walking into the lobby was cold, stark and impersonal. Off putting.

But our room was fabulous! Everything was pretty and in order, including the robes and slippers.

I see where others have bragged on the service so maybe we were just there at the wrong time. The girl who waited on us for lunch in the lobby restaurant must have been having a very bad day because she was hardly civil to us. She never smiled and we could hardly hear her. Clearly she did not want to be there. Again – off putting.

We had just spent 4 days at a Maine B&B where we had generous amounts of free homemade goodies so imagine my shock and surprise to see a $6 price tag on a bottle of water in the room.

I’ve stayed in large city hotels many times and I realize they nickel and dime you. It’s one thing to charge $5.75 for a little bottle of gingerale from the mini bar but it’s just rude to charge $6 for water. I'm sorry, but come on!

Located right in the business district this is a great choice for business travelers. I stayed there for a night and the room was excellent. The staff at the lobby (from the concierge to the bell boy) were very helpful. This hotel is very close to plenty of eateries and accessible via public transportation.

The only annoying thing was that they stocked the room with FIJI water - $6 a pop. How many people would want to support global warming by paying a few extra bucks for a bottle of water flown from the other side of the globe?

The hotel is located in the old Federal Reserve building in Boston. It has a beautifully done interior and is very well kept. The room was adequate but a bit noisy for a top tier hotel. The staff was very courteous and attentive. Overall a good place to stay.

I have stayed at a lot of hotels over the years, and many are fun, trendy, comfortable, or stylish Some strive to be and never make it. But the Langham is different. It is a true 5 star experience, not because of what it looks like, but because of the outstanding service. On the outside, the Langham is a little pricey and a little old fashioned--not run down, just not that funky/edgy boutique thing so many hotels are going for these days. I got great deal for a Friday night and I was not disappointed. Very comfortable rooms, excellent service, friendly staff, and something genuine about the friendliness, too. They have a nice spa, and are on Boston's business district, but only a few blocks from tourist destinations. Fun, Asian toiletries ( I think they are owned by an Asian firm), and a champagne bar. My only complaint is that you can't rent movies; only cable. But that's nothing compared to the service.

Room Tip: Join the rewards program; you might get upgraded.

Very nice hotel that is conveniently located if you have business in the financial district. The pillows were my biggest complaint. They were small and flat - needless to say, no sleep! The Bond Bar is beautiful. It is the old Federal Reserve Bank. Very chic.

Be prepared, this hotel is expensive!

as an air france crew member,we have the privilege to be located in this hotel when we land to boston, i love it:you feel really comfortable in the rooms,it's quiet,,the decoration is" english victorian" style ,soothing colors, tastefully decorated;nothing to do with the huge hilton chain hotels where you feel anonymous and the brownish decorations are depressing and look old-style..
it is also well located,in the heart of the financial center..the desk employees are really helpful so is the staff for breakfast.
a place i would highly recommand!
ps:as a little tip;breakfast is better on w.ends as there is a buffet so a larger choice of food.

Beautiful hotel. Check-in service was slow, over 20 mins. We were charged twice for our room plus a mystery charge. Error was found three days after checkout when reviewing CC activity. Still disputing

Room Tip: Great rooms, nice location, perfect for our birthday celebration. Service by their check-in and fin...
