“Upscale, modern”
Reviewed 2 September 2014

Very comfortable room, very clean, modern. Amenities. Amazing location right next to Quincy Square/Faneuil Hall. At times, that made it a bit noisy, but that died down by the time I was heading to sleep. Balcony room was a nice option; only room enough for 1 person to stand, but the fresh air was a nice option when we left the doors open. Room service was hit or miss. Go out to eat. Also, parking at the hotel was convenient, but cost an arm and a leg...use the parking lot across the street over the Hard Rock instead.

Was given a room overlooking the hotel's mechanicals and air conditioning units. Very loud with the mechnicals right outside the windows, with very poor windows from a noise insulation perspective. When I complained, I was offered a similar room one floor down (I mean....really....). Then they suddenly discovered they could "upgrade" me...though the upgraded room looked the same, it overlooked what seemed like a stacked parking lot instead. Very poor window noise insulation still a problem, now with a steady annoying drumbeat from somewhere outside that went into the evening. No standalone shower stall...just a dated 80's style bathtub. Would not stay here again.

Dear Top Contributor,

We appreciate your insight and I offer my apologies for your experience while a guest at Millennium Bostonian.

As with any city location, noise is an issue to contend with as a hotel operator and we deal with emergency vehicles, adjacent construction, special events and attempt to control what is within our abilities. Although the mechanics on the adjacent rooftops are not owned by the hotel, our engineering team has spent time and money to reduce noise and we will again assess readings from our guest rooms.

We work effortlessly every day with the city of Boston and adjacent business owners to offer our guests the best possible sleep. And, again, my apologies that your sleep was interrupted.

Sincerely,

Robert Rivers

We stayed for two night before leaving on a cruise. My husband had never been to Boston and the Millennium Bostonian Hotel was perfect for our visit! The location across the street from Faneuil Hall and Quincey Market was perfect.
I will say the room was a little funky with a staircase leading down into the bedroom - bit a pain to drag luggage up and down - but great views!

Everything you would expect and more. Efficient and polite staff, a spacious and attractive reception area, a large, clean and comfortable room and a roof terrace. Ideal location, right by Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, with endless dinner opportunities in Little Italy. Would definitely stay here again.

The location of this hotel was its best asset. Right beside Quincey Market , near the port , close to the north end Italian district . But it ends at that. We upgraded to a balcony , stupid money as you can not even sit on the balcony. Total waste of money and you can not complain to anyone.
No breakfast , the lobby is so dark and dreary . Again the location is fabulous use don't expect too much.
The only reason I would stay here is be the location. We checked our everything in Bostonand definitely the best location.

Room Tip: No wifi in room was disappointing

Loved this hotel and the location. In the middle of and walking distance to almost everything! We even walked to Fenway. We did take a cab home since we were tired. Across the street from lots of shopping, eating, drinking and entertainment.

Well we returned to Boston to stay at the Hotel which we really like but it is getting to the point that it is becoming ridiculous with reservations. We booked two rooms 6 months ago. We arrived Saturday morning around 11:30AM knowing that check in would not be until 3pm but were going to catch the ball game at Fenway. Told hotel staff that the rooms were to be side by side and want the large rooms with king bed because both rooms were to have roll-a-way beds as well. Checked our bags with bell hop and went to game. Red Sox lost again :( . Came back to hotel got our rooms went upstairs only to find out that the one room was right and had the roll-a-way bed. The second room was the smaller room with a king bed and the roll-a-way bed was there but would have to move all the furniture to get if to fold down. The room was half the size of the other one. Both roll-a-way beds did not have pillows. Called front desk and was told someone would be up to show us other room. After waiting for 40 mins and calling the desk twice more final someone appeared and showed us other room which was the correct style room, but was at the other end of hotel. After an hour we were finally settled in the rooms. Make sure you read the emails sent to you, as our rooms had a $50.00 dining coupon which they did not tell us about when we checked in. Came across it while waiting for the correct size room.

Room Tip: Rooms over looking Farmers market have double doors which can be closed to stop all hallway noise...

Dear Senior Contributor,

With my sincere apologies, it is apparent that your reservation was misread by our guest service agent and I know we can agree that this is not acceptable. My personal apologies.

Be assured that I will review your comments with my team and although we are not able to identify your stay, due to privacy rights, the overall concern will be addressed. Although many guests book reservations via a third party channel, and 'request' special needs, we are not always capable of handling every request due to property size and when the volume exceeds our abilities.

Certainly we wish to correct your impression and I offer my direct contact information if you wish to return and experience a night as my guest.

Thank you,

Robert Rivers
