I used this hotel as I had a seven hour layover coming off a transatlantic flight before transferring to a domestic airline. Hotel pick up was quick and all the staff were very helpful. Accomodation was quiet and comfortable.

The Hilton at Logan Airport is probably my favorite option for a "Park, stay, fly" for an early morning flight out of Boston. Since it's the only hotel actually on the property connected to the terminals via walking "sky brides", it is a little more expensive, but very convenient. You can walk, or if you prefer, take a shuttle to all the terminals. The shuttles run every 15 minutes, but a walk to the farthest terminal with luggage is about 10-15 minutes, so I usually do that.

I stay on the 9th or 10th Executive Level floors. For that, you get a comfortable room, and access to the executive lounge on the 10th floor, overlooking Boston. You'll have complementary breakfast in the morning. (They open at 5:30am, good for those early flights.) At night, they have appetizers and soft drinks, and alcohol for purchase. It's a nice, quiet spot that is sometimes a nice alternative to the lobby pub/bar.

I've used some of the hotels off property, which are less expensive, but the Hilton is a notch better on service and convenience. Hilton Honors gets you things like free WiFi, and depending on your level, you may get the upgrade to Executive Floor without paying extra.

Room Tip: If you are on the Executive level, try to get the 10th floor instead of the 9th. They are both Execu...

We chose the Hilton Boston Logan twice this summer to stay inside the airport on an overnight international layover, but I doubt we will stay here again.

Both times we came away with the feeling that this hotel is a glorified budget hotel. While the facilities are fine, the service is clipped -- too few employees trying to meet the needs of too many travelers. The front desk staff did not recognize Gold Status with Hilton, was so harried they did not welcome us. To be expedient they have all the hotel instructions on a handout sheet which is all they give when you come to the desk, but that is not what you expect for a $300 stay.

It took 4 hours and 4 calls to get pillows brought to the room, despite having faxed the request that these be in the room as we were flying in from overseas and wanted to be able to go straight to sleep. Prestocked items were not pre-stocked and appeared only after 3 calls to room service.

Our dinner was fine but not great, for the price there was too little food. The $20 tacos were not a main course as they were tiny, barely enough as an appetizer, though they were tasty. The chopped salad was fresh but it was not "chopped" with lots of items, just mixed greens.

The wheelchair accessible roll in shower bathroom was actually well done and useable, but the strangely rigged elevated toilet seat should be replaced with an actual ADA height toilet. The bed is too high for most wheelchair users to get into it, even in the ADA adapted room. The room is very quiet despite being next to the airport, but we did smell fumes from (?) fuel exhaust or something at the hotel which was unpleasant.

In my opinion the convenience of this hotel and even the decent wheelchair access does not excuse the shoddy service.

Room Tip: The executive rooms are no bigger than the regular rooms, they just include club access.

We stayed for two nights - one on either side of a trip up to Cape Cod. It's a convenient hotel, located so close to the airport. On our outbound journey, our check-in close to midnight didn't go well - the receptionist was surly and unhelpful. The vending machines didn't work and we had to visit each floor to find one that did. The room itself was comfortable enough but there were too few towels, and not enough coffee and milk.

On the way back, we checked-in in the afternoon and were disappointed to find the rate we'd been quoted was not the rate we were charged - the manager was called and she told us the hotel was close to full occupancy and that the rates changed according to how busy they were.

The next shock came when I tried to log onto the internet in the room - no service! You had to pay between $9.99 and $17.99 for 24 hour access. You could use the internet down in the lobby, but not in the privacy of your room. I was not impressed.

This hotel was $289 for an Executive Room on the 9th floor. The room, as one should surely expect for that price, was good: comfortable bed, crisp linen, free wifi etc. There was nothing outstanding here at all, though (and I think of the wonderful Edwardian Radisson Blu at Heathrow by comparison). What was truly disappointing, and why I wouldn't contemplate returning, was the room service. The server guy was lovely, so it's not the service. The food was awful. If I hadn't been so utterly exhausted, I'd have sent it back. I ordered fish and chips, which at $22 plus 'administrative fee', plus tray fee, plus service, amounted to more like $30, was worse than even I can manage to cook. It was wan, flaccid, lukewarm, and with nothing to recommend it, except the little bucket of vinegar that accompanied it, and in which I could drown it. Imagine: a white plate completely full of undercooked oven chips, upon which was precariously balanced two greasy and soapy battered fish fillets. That was it. Oh, I forget: two quarters of lemon. More yellow. Where the peas? Where the coleslaw? Where the cookery skill? Urgh. I really did expect better.

We booked this hotel because we had a flight out of Boston in the morning and wanted a nice, convenient hotel. Do not get me wrong, this hotel is nice, clean and convenient--BUT, it is not worth $200+ a night. The walls are paper thin. We could hear everything going on around us. It was SO loud--toilets flushing, voices, doors closing, a dog barking...the list goes on and on. You can purchase WiFi for about $14.99 a day...think you can just use your phone as a hotspot?? Not here--it is like they block the signal. We were on the third floor, and my phone couldn't pick up a signal, just fine in the lobby, not in the room.It is important to remember, this is a large airport, so you may still have to take a shuttle to your gate-- Important to remember if you are flying American. So, we could have booked a room in Revere at one of the other close, nice, moderately priced hotels, and taken a shuttle to the airport. It really is nothing special, and the convenience is overrated. Stay at a hotel in Revere. Most have free parking, free WiFi, and they are only a short shuttle trip away.

Kathryn M, Front Office Manager at Hilton Boston Logan Airport, responded to this review, 14 September 2013
Dear Paytonsgirl,

Thank you taking the time to share your feedback on our property. We do have several internet options in our hotel; starting at $9.99 as well as complimentary wireless in our lobby along with Connectivity Stations featuring both Macintosh and Windows based computers. I do hope that despite not fully meeting your needs for location, your stay was pleasant with us. The Hilton Boston Logan is connected to Terminals A and E by Sky Bridge and it take about seven minutes to reach the furthest terminal point, we do recommend taking the shuttle for Terminals B and C. We enjoy offering a complimentary shuttle for our guests to all Terminals to make luggage transportation as effortless as possible. If you decide to return please feel free to reach out to me directly, Kathryn.Menio@Hilton.com so I may ensure you have a room in a quiet area of the hotel.

Kathryn

Booked for our trip to Martha's Vineyard and we were so glad we did. We traveled all day and spent the night here. We had dinner and drinks in the lobby. Friends actually met us here. The staff were easy to work with. The hotel is beautiful. View of the City was great and my husband even got in a swim. Kind of sad this type of place is only at the airport!
