“Perfectly memorable little get away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

The Green Turtle was the perfect place to get away for our 20th anniversary! Regrettably, we only had the one night, but when you're only 40 minutes away from home and feel a world away from everything, its all good! Karen and Jon were wonderful hosts, even decorating our door with a "Happy Anniversary" banner. Such an incredible location with all the comforts of home. Beautiful Boston skyline views from the deck. We really had to tear ourselves away for dinner in the North End, which is a convenient MBTA Ferry away. We timed it just right and had a sunset cruise on the way back to the Turtle. I was up early the next morning and caught the sunrise over the harbor. We hated to leave and can't wait to come back.

Wonderful two night stay on Green Turtle II. Karen and Jon are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Even though they have a new location within minutes you are in downtown Boston. We had the privilege of being able to see a beautiful sunset. Thanks for a great stay in Boston!

I'd start by saying we'll do this again..... Quaint is one of the frist words which comes to mind. My wife and I enjoy traveling. We've long since, gotten past the chain hotel experience. Jon and Karen our hosts were wonderful and graticious, even excited to share with us the life style they have chosen.... You'll want to make sure you visit all the properites they have to offer... We stayed on the house boat, comfortably appointed and priviate... Karen and Jon oriented us well about the boat and the experience we would expect... Once there we had made plans to visit the city... it's didn't take long until we realized, we were happy right were we were. We did venture out for dinner and for a walk around Deer Island, happened to be the weekend that there was a lunar elipse.... this venue the elipse, the quaint welcoming made for a wonderful romantic stay.... We'll visit again and stay on one of their other properties and bring another couple and or have in intimate dinner party with a small group of friends... Can't wait.

I would not recommend this for people with physical limitations, accessing the dock depending upon the tide could be daunting and the yaughts are ladder accessed so you need to be able to climb ladders... The other thing would be in the event of poor or bad weather, it might not be as easy to shift to plan B.

Wonderful. Stunning and so WELL CARED FOR. These are the words that come to mind in describing the experience at the Green Turtle. John and Karen are the best. From the moment you walk down the gangway to the hugs at the cab (that they ordered, no less), you feel as if you have been given your own private cook, tour guide, and care-givers! The boat is lovely. The town of Winthrop is quaint with wonderful restaurants and best of all, you can walk right from the boat! We love to walk and explore and after a day of it in Boston, it is incredible to come 'home' and sip wine from the pier and watch the sunset over the Boston skyline. We will definitely be back and cannot wait. If everyone loved their work and each other as John and Karen, what a wonderful world it would be! Thanks so much for the kindness and the inspiration to give, give, give to others. At this season of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for places like the Green Turtle, a place you can go to recharge, renew and inspired!

The Green Turtle is not to be missed except by us of course! We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in October and the new location is fabulous. The sunset is a must see. Jon and Karen are the most gracious hosts and the breakfasts were delicious. Jon filled in for Karen while she served Jury Duty and did a great job. Our suite was beautiful, spotless and provided everything that we needed. Cannot wait to visit again. Thank you Karen and Jon.

This is our second time staying on board the Green Turtle II and the first time in the new marina location. It is our tradition to celebrate our anniversary each year aboard the Green Turtle. Once again, it was a fantastic and enjoyable experience. We actually like the new location a bit better: there is easy and ample parking and the drive to this location is very easy. The view of the city is amazing and the sunset is gorgeous! There are great restaurants close by. We ate at the Belle Isle Seafood for lunch, and I had the best crab cakes I've had in a long time. We had a fantastic dinner at Cafe Rossetti's which is a wonderful, small italian BYOB restaurant. The breakfast cooked by Karen was delicious, as always. There are beaches near by and the drive to Deer Island is simple. Boston is a 15 minute ride away -- we actually had to drop some of my husband's art work off in Boston as we headed home and that was such an easy drive from the Green Turtle. Overall, we were not at all disappointed and we love coming here. Jon and Karen are the most accommodating inn keepers you could hope for and they truly go out of their way to make sure that you enjoy your stay. We are coming back for 4th of July to stay again and we cannot wait!!! We should have a great view of the Boston fireworks! Thanks again for a truly wonderful time.
