Across from the Old State House, this hotel puts you right in the heart of things. We walked or rode the T everywhere. The rooms are sleek, sexy and fun. The staff is very helpful. You do have to order ice but they are very prompt. Filling the empty restaurant space would be a plus. There are, however, so many restaurants within blocks that it didn't matter to us. We enjoyed our stat!

I stayed at the Ames for one night only, but it was a great stay. The staff was friendly, the location was superb, and the rooms were very modern, and clean. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but our view, from the floor to ceiling window was great. Loved the shower too.

Took a weekend trip to Boston for our daughter's track meet. We wanted to stay close to Quincy Market- so this hotel was perfect for walking to the shops and restaurants. Since it was the beginning of March, it was still cold, but there was no snow around, so we were still able to enjoy walking around the historic area of Boston. The Ames is a nice small hotel- immeidately across from the old church in downtown Boston- which was nice to see out our window. The room was spacious and very nicely decorated. The layout was a bit different, with a long hallway to enter the room - but still very nice with high ceilings which added to the spaciousness. The bathroom was modern with glass and tile and a heated towel rack which was a really nice bonus. It is laid-back and you might actually miss the doorman because he is dressed in casual clothes- but still very helpful and nice. It was quiet in our room - which we much appreciated since staying in the city can sometime not be so quiet. There is no restaurant in the hotel- but there are plenty of choices in the Quincy market or very close - so finding breakfast or dinner choices was a matter of picking what you wanted. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel and would do so again myself if I was in Boston again.

Great historic boutique hotel. Close to historic Boston and North Boston (great Italian area with lots of places to eat) AND the subway station (only three stops from the airport). Staff was extremely helpful. The only small thing was that there wasn't a lot of hot water in the mornings…

Really nice hotel with friendly staff and very comfortable rooms.

I stayed for 4 nights on business in March.

The let down is that they only serve breakfast and if I'm honest it's overpriced for what it is, however there are plenty of other food options right on your doorstep!

Overall - a great hotel.

I stayed at the Ames Hotel the night before a conference in Quincy that I needed to attend. I loved the sleek look of the hotel rooms and had the most comfortable bed ever. Room 701 was quiet and had an amazing view. The location was fantastic.Right around the corner from Faneuil Hall.It was easy to get back on 93 South the next morning. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel, easy to find, 10 mins in a taxi from the airport. Check-in fine, cc required and $75 taken each day off card for incidentals, not sure why as there is no bar or restaurant in the hotel. i was told at check-in that my company had only booked room only which i was surprised about. Room on a corner with net curtains, took me a while to find the roller blinds, glass wall with a curtain between shower and bedroom, bathroom fine with toiletries. No kettle or coffee making facilities but i did ask and one was provided.

Breakfast on 1st morning was across the street, went back and porter hailed a cab, 2nd morning i ate in the hotel, nice breakfast room and food, you can take, coffee to go as paper cups& lids available.

plenty of help from reception & concierge staff for trains and restaurants etc, for a lone woman there isn't a lot of places local to eat at night, you have to walk over to the market area.

on my final morning i had a bill pushed under my door for the breakfast, on checking my paperwork would that my company had booked B&B for me - i queried the bill, receptionist agreed that the booking was B&B! i said i was very disappointed as i was told it was room only so therefore i had gone outwith the hotel 4 morning and bought breakfast and her response was 'well we haven't charged you for the 1 you had in the hotel'!

We're sorry about the confusion in regards to breakfast you experienced during your stay. Breakfast is included with some of our corporate rates & if it is our staff has been instructed to inform our guests & give them breakfast vouchers. It appears that this didn't happen upon your arrival & we are incredibly sorry about that. We hope to see you again soon so we can have the opportunity to make it up to you.
