“Find time to see Boston Pops”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

This is a really lovely old Symphony Hall. Dress up and see the symphony, especially Boston Pops at Christmas for a really wonderful family visit.

“A great place for music”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

What a delightful and beautiful building to hear good music in (our latest visit was for jazz). The acoustics are outstanding everywhere, and we have sat in the front, middle, back and upstairs at various times. For visuals we very much prefer the front, as the seating is pretty much on the same level on the main floor (a very slight grade, but those used to stadium seating where everyone has a view won't be thrilled). Obviously great music of all kinds playing here that are worth seeing, and the hall itself is a visual marvel. Also in a great location in Boston, across the street from the Christian Science Center, up the street from the Berklee School of Music and their excellent music venue, a short walk to the Prudential Center. Definitely worth a visit - or 3 or 10.

“Good visit”

See the extraordinary organ pipes and hall but be sure to get tickets for a performance if you can. Witness the hall in action and the people who inhabit it.

“lovely venue”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Saw a Handel and Haydn concert here. It's located right by a T station, which is helpful. Exterior is very nice, interior is too. It was a really good experience.

“Awesome concert hall, poor eating/drinking options”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

the hall and its acoustics are phenomenal. there isn't a bad seat in the house, in many ways its like the best European concert halls, built before electrical amplifiers and the sound is wonderful. the BSO are a fantastic orchestra and we also had the treat of YoYo Ma as the guest soloist, what's not to love!
Well the pre-post concert options in the hall are awful. the nicest staff couldn't make up for the expensive drinks (even by typical concert standards $15 for a glass of wine!) and the food was like the school cafeteria. Don't waste your money there are dining options near by, go,there! It's such a shame a good cocktail bar would increase revenue and be a great draw to the hall.
