“Good Eats”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

Ate at the Tap in Jun 2013. Excellent food. We had fish and chips and they were great. Enjoyed the meal. It was very busy when we were there and the place was almost packed. We thought it was a good value for what we got and for the ambiance. They also have a bar and we each enjoyed a nice cold draft Samuel Adams beer. Highly recommend. We would go back again.

“Out of the many bars and pubs in Beantown, this was a great find!”
Reviewed 2 June 2013

"Stumbled" upon the place while looking for the Purple Shamrock (which no longer is there). Almost got up and left as we ordered a drink and it took a long time coming......so glad we stayed! Drinks took a bit longer than expected, but once they arrived, they were good....bartender Theo was great to chat with...owner very interactive...chatting about local events...relaxed comfortable place...nothing fancy..but something about the people here made you want to support the locals and not a big chain. Definitely will return on our next trip to Boston

“The Tap - Fun Place to Be”
Reviewed 5 April 2013

The Tap is one of our favorite bars in Boston, high energy and lots of fun. Highly recommend going on a Wednesday evening to see the performance of Bruce Jacques. He is not only a talented musician but puts on the most hilarious show anywhere. This is endless laughter! For more information and when he is performing at The Tap, go to BruceJacques.com.

“Great food, service not the best”
Reviewed 5 April 2013

My companion and I stopped here on Saturday evening March 30, 2013 only after deciding the crowds at the surrounding places, those we were fmailiar with and liked, were too crowded. The other places we had been at and enjoyed were the Bell in Hand, Green Dragon, Union Oyster House all in the same area). We had walked by the Tap many times and decided to try it out. It was NOT busy which alarmed us a bit since all of the surrounding taverns were jammed....usually a red flag....but beer is beer so we stopped in. The beer was ice cold, the food we ordered was excellent and the only reason the place was probably not packed is that the service (food orders) was very slow and the bouncer at the front door was not exuding friendliness to those who decided to be brave and enter.

I would still say give this place a chance.

“Add This Stop To Your Tavern Tour”
Reviewed 29 March 2013

Great stop for happy hour and beyond. Great appetizers as well. Wings are acceptable and a great value. All of the bars in the area make great watering holes but this one adds value to the mixture. Check it out.
