We decided to have Sunday brunch before we head back to NYC. Knowing we would be early, our plan was to explore the nearby area before the restaurant's 11am opening.
Anyway, we parked at a nearby muni looking garage ($18 for 2 hours) ... had not choice after looping around for 15 mins and found nothing. We went by the place and found a line of 30 people long outside, so we decided to stand in line for 20 mins rather than to walk around. When we finally enter the restaurant, we realized 99% of the line was for the doughnuts/tarts and not for brunch. Given the unusual flavors (eg. bacon and mocha, and strawberry pretzel) we decided to try some (at $3 each doughnut). The doughnuts were good but I expected more of a WOW ... I personally would not repeat standing in line for 30 mins and pay $3 for each creation.
Now back to The Salty Pig. Well, it was worth my trip. The atmosphere was very relaxing for Sunday brunch. The waiters were very very friendly. We ordered Prosciutto di Parma, Smoked Beef Tongue, Epoisses cheese, Pork Belly Confit & Eggs, and Pork Bell Hash. The dishes were very yummy. Love the Pork Belly Confit & Eggs.
Looking forward to try other dishes during my next Boston visit!
