“Perfect for us.”
Reviewed 30 December 2012

Got a good deal on flight and five nights at the Charlesmark through Expedia.
Location was perfect for us...right next to Trinity Church, Public Library, Newbury St., great restaurants....steps away from the T subway which quickly brought us downtown to Historic sights or to the Fenway area for the art museums.
A modern looking hotel but very comfy rooms and pretty quiet, given location.
Friendly staff, basic breakfast included.
We highly recommend.

Room Tip: We had street view which was lovely.

Had a great stay at the Charlesmark. For the price it was a very good location, near transport and tons of shopping. We got a heap of Boxing Day deals.

Room had everything we needed, lots of channels, good clean bathroom and shower.

Service was great. We had to keep our luggage there till very late in the evening and they were ok with it. I had issues with a cash debit card which they handled very well whilst I stressed out for a bit.

Would stay again.

We stayed here for 5 nights in December 2012. The positives are that it is located approx. 20 mins walk to down town and across the road from the T (green line). The hotel had free wifi and the staff were excellent, the price was also good for the location.

On the downside, the rooms are very small although nicely decorated. The lift was a bit unpredictable. The breakfast was very basic.

If you want a good priced hotel located near the city centre then this is the hotel for you. If you are after a bit more luxury then you may want to consider looking elsewhere.

It's a very lovely hotel in a nice location. Walking distance to numerous T-stations, shopping attractions and touristy places of interest. Located straight across the street from the Boston Public Library. If you want fresh coffee, Dunkin' Donuts is 2 mins away. The hotel itself is small but cozy. Perfect for a solo or business traveler. Suites aren't big at all - but then again, even NYC hotel rooms are smaller. The bed & pillows are comfy. Breakfast is free & very simple: bagels, jams, cream cheese, oatmeal, fresh fruit, tea/coffee. The staff is very pleasant & helped us with the directions to the nearest "Legal Seafoods" restaurant. It's very simple yet modern, nothing fancy. Loved it.

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night - for a business trip

Good:
The reception staff is very friendly and helpful
There is a very good bar at the hotel - open till 1am (food served till 10pm)
The rooms are clean
The location is great
Business center with printer
Free WiFi (and working)
24 hours coffee
Very large mirror in the room

Bad:
My room windows' view was to another wall (zero sun in the room, and all you see is a dirty wall and plumbing pipes)
Old building - floors are very "screechy" - you can hear any step in the room above and in the hallway - I had trouble getting asleep
The blanket is not warm enough - it was pretty cold at night
Breakfast is VERY basic (bagel, cream cheese, butter, jelly, oatmeal, banana, orange)
No closet, no fridge in the room

Room Tip: Ask not to have room with windows to a wall Ask to get last floor - otherwise you will hear any ste...

The Charlesmark in Boston's Back Bay, convenient for museums, libraries, the Copley/Green line stop on the MTA, and shopping. My room was a double bed 'room with a view' over the rooftops in the rear of the building, comfortable for one, possibly cramped for a couple. The bathroom is nicely decorated, great water pressure, limited shelf/counter space. With winter coats it wold be helpful to have more hooks to hang clothing and wet coats. The platform bed was very comfortable, with large storage drawers underneath. The continental breakfast was plenty to start the day, I would have preferred stronger coffee. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, they apologized in advance for potential noise from an evening wine tasting....which I couldn't head once the elevator doors closed. Being busy out of the hotel all day I found the Charlesmark filled all my needs, and was comfortable and very friendly.

Charlemark Hotel is very close to the T, across the road. A quick walk to the Hynes Convention Centre for a conference. The room was clean and comfortable directly opposite the Boston Library. The staff were friendly and the price was great compared to the conference hotels as it included hi speed internet, a simple breakfast (24 hour coffee) including free use of the printer in the business centre. Overall we will return to this hotel in the future, we have stayed at a number of hotels in Boston and this one come out on top.
