Third trip to Boston in less than two years. Booked the Commonwealth the first time account great reviews by other Red Sox Nation members. Despite its proximity to Fenway Park, the hotel is very quiet, both during and after games. The staff is friendly and helpful and more than willing to answer nearly any question sent their way. Complementary Champagne at check in was a welcome surprise after traveling 3/4 of the way across the country to get there.

Great hotel, great service, friendly staff and great location. I would and have already recommended it!

Room Tip: I had a corner room and it was quiet and sunny!

My wife had booked a trip for us to Boston to celebrate my 30th birthday and selected this hotel due to the great reviews posted here on Tripadvisor. First off, we took a cab from the airport to the hotel for about $40 (tip included), were greeted upon check in with two cold glasses of champagne (which was a nice touch), and had a small birthday cake and bottle of wine waiting in the room for us to start the celebration. The room does come equipped with an iPhone charger which was a life saver, a comfy bed and sheets, and enough room for two people to get ready in without having to step over one another. We were on the 5th floor in a standard room which doesn't disappoint at all. If you are in town to catch a ballgame, this is the place to stay as it is about a three min walk to the park. Make sure to take the park tour to get the full appreciation of all the beauty that is Fenway, and I recommend if it's game day to do the batting practice tour, which is the last one of the day. We did have dinner the second night at the Island Creek Oyster Bar and Sunday breakfast at the Eastern Standard (both are attached to the hotel), and were blown away by how great the food was! Overall, a great way to celebrate a 30th birthday.

My family of 4 stayed there over Memorial Day Weekend in the Fenway Room. Great view of the Green Monster. Hotel is lovely. Champagne upon arrival is a welcome treat. Room was very clean and had all the amenities I was looking for. Breakfast at Eastern Standard was delicious!Would highly recommend this to familes, couples or business travelers!

We flew in on the red-eye from San Diego and really needed to be in a room by 7:30am. They were so willing and helpful. Got our room ready and did not charge us extra! Loved the rooms, the location near Fenway and Newbury Street (shopping and amazing restaurants) and the T station just steps from the entrance. This was my first trip to Boston and not my last. I love this city! Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a view of Fenway....really made us feel like we were in Boston!

We always stay here - price is on the higher end, but you do indeed get what you pay for. Compared to other hotels with comparable prices (or higher) I have to say this is the best I've ever been to. Great restaurants on the property as well.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room at the Commonwealth, however this trip we had a corner room...

We were looking for a convenient spot to stay close to Fenway Park, as we were seeing a Red Sox game. We were also doing some touristing over the Memorial Day weekend, so wanted relative location convenience to the other parts of the city. The hotel Commonwealth did not disappoint, and while I would not call it inexpensive, the value is very good. The location is very convenient to a number of walking distance attractions such as Newbury Street, The Fens and the Gardner museum, and with the Kenmore T stop literally out front, convenient to other parts of the city.

The service was attentive and friendly without being obsequious from the first contact at Valet Parking (a bit on the pricey side, but it is Boston, land of no parking) and the doormen, through every other contact - bellman, front desk, and housekeeping staff. Warm and friendly folks who engage in just the right amount of familiar small talk without going over the top.

The room was immaculate and very large; two queen beds, two large, comfortable chairs, a desk and plenty of room to spread out. Our room faced the back of Fenway Park and that was quite a hoot. The beds were extremely comfortable, pillows a little too puffy for my taste, but a good firm mattress that made for a good night's sleep. Given the busy location and the fact that hotel appeared to be full, it was also remarkably quiet, even give the fact that were too close to he elevator for my preference.

The only very small quibble I have is that we did not have an in-room coffee service. Another guest on our floor commented on theirs, so I was left wondering at what level does one receive a coffee service? Never the less, the experience was great all around. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Commonwealth again. A great spot, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Request a high floor away from the elevator. The Fenway view is great - if you are a fan.
