“Great Location, clean, neat facility, helpful staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

We stayed here recently for a Boston wedding and found the location superb! About 1/2 mile north is Newbury St. area, 1/2 mile east - Public Garden; 1/2 mile west - Prudential/Hynes. Trinity Church, Boston Public Library, Copley Plaza, many tour bus stops etc. two blocks or less.
Staff is helpful in pointing out the best things to do depending time frame and on the preference of walking vs. tour buses vs. boats/cruises and physical abilities as we had some quite senior family members along.
The rooms were clean and neat. This is an older building, so the bathrooms are sufficient but not updated/modern - but who's going to spend their holiday in the shower anyway!
Room equipped with coffee maker, but no refrigerator. Was not of importance to our group.
Continental breakfast provided daily on an enclosed patio, and had ample, breads, danish, bagels, cereal, juice, coffee, tea, fresh fruit to get you started on your day.
There is street/metered parking out front and on the adjacent block, overnight free meters, daytime - 2 hr time limit.
The hotel is adjacent to a parking garage and they offer a park and stay deal if chosen at booking - Read the Rules, in/out access is limited to once/day under this deal.
The hotel was somewhat less expensive than those in the surrounding radius that had swimming pools, restaurants and other amenities.
If you arrive at Logan, the MBTA now has a shuttle bus from the airport to Copley Square - 1 1/2 blocks walk from there to the hotel. Cost is $5/person.
The front desk will call you a cab, but we found walking up to Copley, we could flag them down much faster.
There are several car rental facilities in that same 1-2 block radius as well.

Room Tip: The Park & Stay includes either a king bed or two double beds for the same price if you will be...

We loved the location of this hotel. Kelley, who checked us on was extremely helpful. The room was adequate, but the bathroom was in need of a lot of updating. The bathtub especially was old and rusty......unable to take a bath in it.

Room Tip: If needed, you must ask for a room with two beds.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location - well almost a good location. The rest of teh hotel was just sad. Deprssing reception, ting dark room with ustard coloured bathroom. Small towls taht had seen better days. We peeped into the breakfast room and decided we would not participate in the complemenory breakfast.

Stayed here after a show at the House of Blues. This hotel was the best priced within the city during the higher priced warmer months. The most important thing for us is being with in walking distance of the train and restaurants and it was perfect for that. Over all the room was small but had everything we needed. Even though it was a good deal for the proximity, it was a little pricey for such basic amenities.

Room Tip: had a decent view from the top floor

I had a week long conference being held at another hotel but even the "conference" room rate was above my per diem. I found a room at Boston Common for $189 in an area surrounded by $240+ per night hotels. It is close to the Trinity church and Copley Place. I didn't go to the gym across the street and wished it had a pool for guest use, but those were my only complaints. It was kept clean, I did have to go down one flight to get ice every night. The breakfast gave enough choices but if you are allergic to wheat, there was instant oatmeal and fruit to add. I wish they had more hot choices for the breakfast.

Room Tip: Upper rooms have better views of town.

Centrally located. Carpets could do with upgrade but in general the hotel was clean. Did not get to try the breakfast. Wi-fi was poor on the floor but we were advised that this was the case when we booked in.
