“Very nice hotel”
Reviewed 9 November 2011

Very nice hotel, as we have come to expect from Marriott. Only complaints are the price (but Boston is not a cheap city) and no restaurant/lounge on site. Location was great!

This hotel was expensive, but not as expensive as many others in the area. We had a wonderful view of the Charles River. Our room was large and comfortable; very clean and quiet. Hotel staff was helpful in assisting us with directions throughout the city.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room with a view of the river. It may cost a little more, but well worth the extra...

First, let me start off by saying I had a smaller "studio" room, right next to the elevator which had a view of the freeway -- and it was still one of the best hotel experiences ever. First, you can take the water taxi from the airport to the back door (dock) of the hotel. Second, the gracious staff allowed a very early check in which made ALL the difference in my 4 day, 3 night Halloween vacation (which just happened to include a good Nor'easter storm).

I was concerned with the location, however, a short walk to the North Station T will connect you to all of the city. The bonus of being right on the water and the Freedom Trail more than makes up for the short walk over the locks.

My room was exceptionally clean, and a perfect size. It was great having the fridge and microwave for leftovers. Extremely quiet, windows open just enough to get some fresh air and determine outside tempeature. The breakfast was exceptional and changed a little each morning. I am so glad I stayed here and will certainly be back!

Room Tip: all rooms are good, even the freeway view is pretty at night with the bridge lit up

We were right on the Freedom Trail. Excellent room. They don't tell you that there is free parking behind the hotel. Had daily breakfast and light dinner as part of the price. Stayed 3 nights and barely used the kitchen due to breakfast and supper provided.

Room Tip: Rooms face either the bridge or the warf or no windows.

This was our first experience of a Residence Inn and it won't (hopefully!) be our last.
As others have said this hotel is ideally placed for those who are in Boston to site see and especially for those who don't mind a little walking. Approx 20 mins to City centre. This property is actually on the famous 'Freedom Trail' and also has quick access to the water taxi for a novel way to access the City sites. Very comfortable beds and slept as we wouild at home. We had a small 'problemette' with our first room ( not really the hotels fault) which was immediately resolved by the helpful front desk staff who offered a change of room even though the hotel was very full.(Thank you Dottie!)
Shame about the 'non green' plastic eating kit for meals - but hey the breakfast was included so what the ............we are on holiday!

Room Tip: Ask for a river facing room, the others can be noisy from the rush hour traffic which starts around...

Stayed here for 2 nights during our recent trip through New England and just loved it! This Residence Inn is conveniently located (North End and Downtown at walking distance), the rooms are very spacious, well-equipped (including fridge with freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher etc) and comfortable and we had a fantastic view over the waterfront which was wonderful.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, too, and the atmosphere in the hotel good and relaxed.
Price-wise, this hotel compares positively with others in expensive Boston, so quality/price relationship was very good.
Breakfast was good and varied. The only thing which we did not like is the use of plastic plates and cutlery - not very classy and not environmentally friendly.
The hotel has valet parking which is very convenient.
We will definitely consider staying again in this "home away from home" when in Boston the next time.

Stayed for a long girls' weekend. Was a little afraid from the map that it would be too far to walk, but it's a very walkable distance from many attractions and the North End. Also convenient short walk to the T. It's clean and well decorated and the staff was so very helpful with dinner recommendations and other suggestions. The breakfast is standard Residence Inn fare, which is fine, and they do offer a large variety of hot and cold dishes. They offered evening refreshments as well, but we did not partake -- too busy. The beds were exceptionally good -- slept every bit as well as I do at home. Overall a good stay and we would stay there again.
