I had limited expectations when arriving but have found my stay so far to be very pleasant. I got this booking through Travelocity at a good discount, and had concerns that it would be ill-advised. Actually, very pleasant indeed. A few points:

1. Outstanding location: when the weather is nice, this is a very pleasant, 1 mile walk through Boston Commons to the business district. And the immediate area is full of shops and the like (if you like high end shops and the like).

2. Surprisingly good breakfast: some comments have criticized the breakfast; while there isn't eggs, bacon etc., there is good fruit (fresh blueberries), pastires, juice, cereal, yoghurt and decent coffee.

3. Clean: The shared bathroom was immaculate and my room was fine.

Two downsides:

1. This club was apparently once women only, and I must say (as I guy) I feel a little like the fox in the henhouse or however that goes.

2. My room is a single on the 4th floor and it is indeed small and indeed has no TV. Also, the in window AC, while reasonably efficient, is a tad noisy. But certainly a servicable room and the place overall is far preferable to a souless chain.

Room Tip: IF you can stand the single, 4th floor is quiet.

Our room was huge, elegant and classy. The College club boasts of being the first accommodation for college women in the US. It is situated in an historic part of town, with beautiful architecture and close to fabulous eateries.

A unique B&B experience in a wonderful part of Boston. It is close to the Boston Commons, Faneuil Hall, the North End, and walking distance to the river. The room was tasteful and clean and the facility extravagant in a by-gone era sort of way. No tv, but one would have felt out of place with the character of the establishment. Worth it.

The room was spacious, breakfast adequate, staff pleasant, but the place needs freshening. A good deep cleaning, some attention from a good handyman and a fresh coat of paint would make the college club come to life.

Be that as it may, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

I was checking for reasonable accommodations while in Boston for a few days and fell in love with the gorgeous rooms pictured on the The College Club of Boston's website, and decided to go with them based on the photos alone. Luckily, there was no false advertising involved! Upon checking in, I was delighted to see the room which was named after Boston University, exactly as shown. The best part of staying with the College Club for me is coming back to a beautiful room every night. As for location, it's also pretty darn good. The College Club is conveniently located near Arlington Station, in a quiet neighborhood despite being in a central area of the city. Boston Common is nearby plus shops/eateries and well-known sights such as Trinity Church and Boston Library are within walking distance. My friend and I had a late check-in on a Monday evening and the staff on duty was a little on the curt side, but professional enough so it didn't bother us. The only thing I would say that might disappoint was the breakfast which was a little sparse on variety with toasted bread/bagels, hard-boiled eggs, cereals and some pastries. If you like hearty, bacon and sausages type of breakfasts, the College Club's simple fare is not for you. But they did say it's complimentary! Also, there's no TVs in the rooms which might bother some, but there's wifi (can be a bit weak at times), and being an old Victorian era brownstone building, squeaky footsteps and sundry noises are amplified as well. But regardless of these minor flaws, the College Club has beautifully appointed rooms, a great location and an old history. Very glad I made the decision to stay here!

I was looking for a place to stay in the back bay while visiting a client. I arrived late and had already received a call from the manager letting me know the combination to the front door and that my room key would be in the front hall. The room was cozy and the bath very nice. Complimentary breakfast was very good.

Going to a Sox game, over night for pleasure not business. Perfect !!!! This is in an old Mansion, very Bostonian. Warm greeting and environment, not a Hotel or inn feeling, It like your visiting someones large home. Rooms clean, central location. Close walk to Public Gardens, and the T.Interesting and historical and quiet.Excellent buffet breakfast serve your self. You can make this a financial plus if you want. Rooms without bath excellent for me.This is the perfect private hide away for a night.

Room Tip: Tough to reach sometimes, get plenty of lead time
