There's something about walking into a beautifully scented hotel lobby that gets me every time. Pros - friendly staff, modern, clean, comfy rooms [and beds!]. Great bath products [always a plus] and the bonus is the pet-friendly nature of this hotel [I just learned about Kimpton - this is apparently their thing]. Shadow the Malamute pup was the Sweetest; and his owner [the manager Mike a/k/a Bruce Willis] was solid friendly and professional.
The only con is the location depending on what you're aiming for. I Loved being a handful of blocks close to North End but the street itself seems like a back downtown alley. There's a cool bar restaurant down the street on a corner [walk left out of the hotel] and some definite happenings on the next streets parallel heading toward the North End. A couple blocks from the T. If you're looking to be close to Newbury St., that's a nice walk during the day but not so close at night.
