“A Nice Surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2014

I travel to Boston often for business and have stayed in a variety of hotels. This was my first time at the Courtyard by Marriott Boston Copley Square. Even though it is a distance from the Boston Convention Center, Copley Square is a great area to stay and worth the cab rides to the Convention Center. Lots of shopping and great restaurants, most within walking distance. This trip I decided to stay in a smaller place and this one fit the bill perfectly. It is a little of the main street and not your "typical" Marriott Courtyard. The building is on Exeter Street and was an older hotel. Marriott has turned it into a charming boutique hotel. Because the building is historic and older, the rooms are somewhat smaller than most Marriott Courtyards, but certainly not claustrophobic. The staff is terrific and very helpful. The front desk was very accommodating and helped us choose restaurants every night ... and their recommendations were spot on. They have a breakfast area, although like some other less expensive Marriott properties, it is not free, but it is also not exorbitantly expensive either. Probably equivalent to a nice coffee shop's breakfast. It looked like some renovation of the breakfast area was taking place and I am assuming they are building the "Bistro" that many of the Courtyards now have. Despite some construction in the neighborhood, I found my room to be quiet and the bed quite comfortable. I also had the privilege of meeting the manager of the hotel who was very concerned in making our our stay a nice experience. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to anyone who likes a change from the "corporate" hotels in the chain.

Room Tip: When I stayed here there was some construction on my side of the building. You may want to ask for a...

Like a lot of my favorite Courtyards, this is in a re-purposed building (an old hotel) with all the expected amenities. It is nice to see some of the old memorabilia in the lobby and a reminder of traveling in the good old days. A perfect Boston location is nicely complemented by a friendly and helpful staff. I'll be back on my next business trip or vacation.

Room Tip: None of the rooms are on a busy street, so you can't go wrong.

I was in Boston for a single overnight stay and chose this hotel based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. I wasn't disappointed!

I arrived early from the airport having traveled on a Redeye the night before. The front desk was extremely helpful and kind in securing me early check-in. I know it's not guaranteed but they did all they could to ensure I was in a room as soon as possible.

The room was on the smaller side to what I'm used to, but it was more than enough. A comfy chair, a king sized bed, a desk and a bathroom. And most importantly, clean!

The hotel was quiet and welcoming. Overall, a great experience.

My wife and I stayed at the Courtyard in Copley Square for our first visit to Boston. It was a great choice as the location of the Courtyard is outstanding and easy to get to all the wonderful sites to see in Boston. In addition to the great location the folks working at the Courtyard are all wonderful and very helpful with anything you need. From the front desk folks to the bellhops and the maids, they all do a fantastic job of taking care of all your needs. We plan on making another trip back to Boston soon to see all the sites we were not able to see this trip and we will definately be staying here at the Copley Square Courtyard.

Room Tip: Get a room on one of the higher floors.

This hotel is a real gem in Back bay. Well located for the Museum of Art and other local attractions including Fenway Park and the Hynes Convention Centre. It's a small property and you get a feel (almost) that it is family owned and operated. The staff are all helpful and friendly and the General Manager (Bernardo Gubert) brings his European flair and interacts with his guests in a most pleasing way.

I worked for 40 years in travel and tourism so I tend to be more critical than most. This gem is only 10 years old but built to retain the traditions of the previous building and matches well with the existing buildings next door. Of course the facilities are up to date. I have therefore given it a classic rating and it verges on boutique.

As an added feature they can arrange first class airport transfers! Very welcome.

Stayed here on a trip to visit Northeastern University. So easy to walk to the school, Copley Square and Newbury Street. Profession Desk Staff. Very helpful and nice. Easy to get a late checkout. Hardworking Valet. Small rooms.
