“A perfect experience”
Reviewed 22 November 2012

This restaurant, with its welcoming intimate space provides imaginative and delicious food (try the tuna martini or duck confit and pate as a first course)' gracious expert service (menus, drinks, food, refills on water and wine glasses ) and a relaxed pace. We felt as though we were back in France...with that European sense of not being rushed to vacate the table;instead our three courses were consumed over a two hour period with enough time to savor each and then be ready for the next. We left with a great sense of satisfaction and well being. We will return.

“Mostly good stuff...but a few gaps”
Reviewed 28 October 2012

Three of us...all family went to Pigalle for a Saturday night dinner. We were seated promptly in a small booth (perfect for the three of us, but probably too small for four). Waiter was attentive, brought the sommelier by for some advice about wine, took our orders and the eating began.

Appetizer: List was interesting and extensive. Price range was: Salads...about $11, more involved apps went up to $18 with a couple higher. Kale Caesar salad was a delightful surprise.

Main Events: Highlight for one diner was risotto, another had fish and another really enjoyed the perfectly-cooked $24 burger. Some entrees were up close to $40.

Wine: Sommelier-suggested Bordeaux was wonderful: $85/bottle. Some wines were cheaper than this, however.

Shared dessert: Fallen-chocolate cake. Those who ate it liked it. Disappointment: no decaf cappuccino.

Overall, a good experience. Pigalle seemed a little crowded, noise level was high, but this was a busy Saturday night. Wait-staff was attentive and helpful.

Parking: Pigalle has validated parking in nearby Hotel Revere. Validated price: $10 (saves $8). No valet in sight, FWIW.

“Food worth waiting for....”
Reviewed 29 September 2012 via mobile

Nice interior but somehow not the best atmosphere. Service is a bit slow. Food is excellent! Espresso machine broke down, though.... Would come back but not the best in Boston....

“Restaurant Week 2012 - A different view”
Reviewed 26 August 2012 via mobile

This was my first visit to Pigalle and I feared for the worst because my host and hostess chose Restaurant Week and Friday in Restaurant Week to boot. This cute and small restaurant has been in operation for rwelve (12) years and is operated by a husband and wife team.

I found the Restaurant Week offerings to be interesting. I chose the sole and found it to be delicious along with the corn soup appetizer. The drinks were equally excellent (I had a Beefeater martini extra dry on the rocks).

What was outstanding (and different) was the feeling that the entire wait staff was teamed up to serve everybody in the place. Different servers for different courses and someone always looking over your table. I would definitely go back there and plan to do so in a few weeks to sample the non-restaurant week offerings.
