Bar and restaurant were the inspiration for the TV show Cheers but by another name. Name of previous bar was removed and Cheers signage added after TV show became popular . Great place for a nostalgic dinner and to say you ate there and take pictures , but food was about average . Definitely touristy and paying a premium for the name

I visited Cheers as I thought it was important to get my nostalgia fix. After all, if you've ever watched the show... You just gotta go where everyone knows your name!

Ok. Here's my two cents. The place is best viewed and photographed from the outside. Anything on the inside is NOT what was on the tv show. Regardless, the interior was decent as was the food.

The downside is that the workers didn't seem to have a clue about the tv show or the actors. Seems to me that if your livelihood depends on a place like this you'd know about it.

My server was Steve (a girl). When asked if that's her real name she said it was today and it could be anything. I renamed her Karla. Thought it was appropriate cause I got Karla type service. Sad she didn't even get it. Nuff said.

Way too many people, even though we went there at 4 in the afternoon. Not as charming as I imagined it would be. Now, the beer was ice cold which was a big plus.

What a cool place to actually see where the TV show was recorded for all those years. Good food, good beer and friendly staff. Gift store was nice and had CHEERS playing on tvs through. you can go through the bar downstairs or through the "set" bar upstairs. Right across from Boston Commons and easy to get there. Worth the stop by

Stopped here with the Boston Hop-On, Hop-Off Trolley. Husband wanted to stop and have a beer. Tables are reserved for people ordering food. The waitress recommended the Lobster and Artichoke dip for $9.99. It was very good. Afterwards, we walked across the street to the Public Garden and took a ride on the Swan Boats for $3. This was a lovely stop in a lovely town.
