We ate here two years ago and I had been dreaming about the experience since. Sadly, the restaurant has declined. Our server was curt, could offer no more menu explanations than "this is popular" (not these oysters are briny, these creamy, etc), and seemed to be rushing us through our meal. We came back for the lobster roll, and it just lacked the flavor we remember from years prior- perhaps they forgot the butter and lemon? Either way, it wasn't the dining experience we had hoped for.

My wife and I are on our annual 4 day weekend in Boston which is one of our favorite cities to visit in the US. Two years ago we had an amazing experience at B&G and were so excited to return. Unfortunately, last night was pretty disappointing. We had 3 different types of oysters which were all bad, Lobster Roll was fresh, but not a lot of flavor and service was pretty subpar. Hopefully it was just a bad night as it is a cool place.

the waitress was not too informative. Fried clams were a bit chewy, not much on the menu. Good to try, but would not go back. Come to find out the waitress gave us the wrong menu.

Never had better oysters, anywhere. Every time I go, each time is the best. Also worth trying are their fried clams... and an appetizer (since taken off the menu) that had sushi-grade scallop carpaccio, bruschetta style, with a pomegranate molasses... unique and delicious!

Wanted to try a variety of clam chowders while in Boston and had to put this one on the list since it won Best of Boston 2013. Out of the four clam chowders we tried, we both agreed we liked this one the best although the Boston Chowda Co was a close second. The chowder was thinner than I expected but was very flavorful. The restaurant was practically empty since we went at an off time. I was afraid the waiter would be rude after only ordering 2 cups of chowder but he was more than professional and bought us out bread and butter before the chowder arrived.
