On a sunny Saturday, we strolled from the Mass General to this wonderful ristorante at the part of Charles Street close to the Public Garden. After many visits for dinner, this was our first time for lunch, and it was excellent. One of the specials was soft shell crabs, a personal favorite, and I have never had it done better. The service, as usual, was impeccable.

Even though we were clearly tourists, everyone made you feel like you were an old friends. Great attentive service throughout the meal. Lots of choices and everything was prepared well. The risottos and pastas are the stars. Nice wine list with good selection of Italian wines. Try the tiramisu.

Had a very nice dinner with friends in this restaurant. The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming. Our waiter was very friendly and got the service just right (not too much, not too little). I had the lobster ($32) which I felt was overdone as the meat was mostly gummy and in some parts not actually that nice. For proper lobster I would recommend the Barking Crab or James Hook & Co down by the Financial District/Sea View. My friends all said that their meals were delicious. Would go there again and order something other than the lobster.

Excellent minestrone soup to start with enjoyed in an atmosphere that makes you feel like you have been transported to Italy. Soft, dark ambience, not noisy, extremely attentive service and a nicely varied menu and wine list made for a good experience here. We chose nightly specials of a veal chop--very hearty and earthy--and the bass--perfectly prepared and elegant. But the outstanding surprise was the four cheese tasting tray with the truffle honey! Not to be missed if you are a cheese lover. I fell in love with the robiola cheese (which I had never had before) and learned to enjoy the sublime cheese/honey experience! A chocolate torte finished our meal but we were so full we saved half of it for the next day's breakfast and it was fully appreciated at that time!! I want to go back to try their pasta and some of the salad and side dish items. (The oven cooked baby peas is first on my list.) A very wonderful dining experience!

This amazing jewel on quaint Charles Street in Boston has everything you want and none of the crowds and chaos of Newbury St. and the North End. Open windows onto Charles Street, diverse menu, and food to die for. For lunch, we shared caprese with some of the best burratta cheese I've ever had, creamy, sweet and just a touch of olive oil. The panzanella salad was an unusual but tasty interpretation, very light and summery. Pappardelle with bolognese and ricotta was simply divine: light, flavorful and noodle cooked to perfection. We were not rushed out, flipped over, or ignored. The Black Truffle Martini was a nice ending as we watched the many languages of the city stroll by and dreamed of returning. Charles Street and Toscano is where it is AT!!
