in my opinion, this is the second best steak in boston. great atmosphere, great service. had a wonderful 50th birthday party here. without asking, the staff decorated the table and had a birthday card at the table signed by the staff, wonderful people to deal with. the restaurant is nearby Copley place in the back bay. it is what you expect when you want a high end dinner in boston. good wine selections, good drinks, great apps and dessert. foodies beware......you won't want to leave.

Went for dinner on a July evening so chose to sit outside.

We started with two glasses of Moet and Chandon $22 each to go with the 8 oysters to share $26. For mains one had Rib Lamb Chops $45 with asparagus on the side $11, the other not feeling as hungry had a bowl of clam chowder $12, finishing with 2 espresso coffees $4.25 each.

Above all we found the service by the waitress excellent - she was professional in all aspects of the ordering, descriptions of the dishes, opening the wine and was attentive throughout even though the restaurant was busy.

The total cost was $199 plus service which was a bit on the pricey side (OK the 2 glasses of champagne did come to $44!).

We had snacks and drinks at the bar of the Capital Grille. The drinks were spot on as always and the wine was very nice. The chowder was good, not great. I always remember the Capital Grille chowder as being great. The au gratin potatoes were delicious and a huge portion and the caprese salad was also huge and lovely. It is more expensive than the prior location and it is much, much noisier. There was a rambunctious group yelling and cursing and no one asked them to settle down. This was disappointing.

Well, we did have a reservation booked for the private room ...
We had a dinner here with our company and some of our best customers. The presentation of the food, quality and service was nothing but the best. Timing of the courses, drinks, and getting everyone their entrée at just about the same time is often hard to coordinate, but managing to please such a large party seemed easy for the staff at the Capital Grille.
Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE in our party left with a full belly and was very pleased for such a great evening ... applause for the servers, kitchen staff and everyone at the CG for making our evening a success! Excellent value!
