We arrived at Giacomo's (Jack-a-moe's) at 4:30, right at opening, and we were the last party to get in without a wait. That was incredibly lucky because after that the wait was lengthy. The food was delicious...I didn't even know that calamari could taste so good. Service was speedy, that's for sure, and the restaurant is loud. But who cares? The food was just superb Italian and seafood. Be sure to know thata Giacamo's is cash only.

So, it's Monday night, cold outside (20's) and yet there was a line waiting to get into this place. We walked past 10 others at least that all looked good but they had empty tables...typical Monday night right? Now if you are looking for white linen table clothes and waiters dressed in white shirts & ties, this is not your place. If you want a place that is loud, tables crammed in next to each other and simply some of the best Italian food you will ever have, then Giacomo's is for you.

We spent twice as much at another very nice North End restaurant just a few night earlier (yes, white tablecloths, quiet atmosphere, etc but the food and fun at Giacomo's was head and shoulders above the other place.

Food is really good. Everything we ordered was amazing. We had a lobster ravioli, chicken parmesan, chicken marsala, tomato caprese, and fried mozzarella The fast pace is part of the "charm." Get there early lines get very long because the restaurant is very small. Overall, this place was both entertaining and the food was very good.

This was the best meal we had in Boston! Charming spot and unbelievably great food. Prices reasonable as well.
Don't miss this when in Boston.

Food was tasty. Service added to the charm, abrupt and efficient. Wait was pretty short thank goodness because it was freezing outside. Price was very reasonable. Always a fun place to eat in Boston's North End.
