Very well located in Boston's little Italy Monica's Trattoria offers great food in a small and cosy restaurant. I'd return without hesitation.

“Little spot, big flavor!”

I've been here several times before and it's always been incredible. Just so you know, Monica's has the best pasta around and the creations are mouth watering. All the pasta are homemade, sauces from scratch. It's a really small spot at the end of Salem Street but worth the squeeze! Mangia!

“Great lunch spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

Feeling a little spoilt for choice with the abundance of Italian restaurants, it was Trattoria di Monica that took our pick as a lunch venue. The display of pumpkins helped in getting our attention, as well.

This cosy little restaurant is one of three businesses owned by local boys, the Mendoza Brothers. Over the road from the trattoria is Monica's Mercato, a gorgeous and recently expanded providor. A few blocks away is the sprawling Vinoteca di Monica, the original restaurant that moved from the small space the trattoria now calls home.

Lunch was a relaxed and delicious affair. A simple spaghetti aglio e olio (16) - garlic, olive oil, chilli flakes and parmesan. Just what the other half was craving. For me, an oozing meatball panini (12) loaded with homemade meatballs, tomato & basil sauce and mozzarella.

“Authentic and delicious food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

It's small at Monica's - very reminiscent of cafes in Italy. Our server was friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Our lunch was very good. What the other diners had looked good too.
We will definitely go back.

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014 via mobile

We had a 7:15 reservation on Friday night, arrived a few minutes early and were asked to wait outside for a few, but were seated promptly at 7:15.

There was a long list of specials which our server (Taylor) gave us detailed information on. The food was fantastic, service excellent, and atmosphere festive. Sure, it's a tight fit, but it was fun! Loved all the laughter and noise of conversations in the dining room.
