Only good thing about the place was the drinks were cheap. There's isn't any other reason to go there.

Was here for St. Patrick's Day 2012 and had a blast! We went downtown and the cover charges were crazy... so ended up at The Tam. Bartenders are a bit slow, but the place was packed. The drinks are strong and the beer is cheap! Bathrooms are pretty disgusting, but given that it's a dive bar it was pretty much understood ahead of time not to expect much. Crowd was great. We had a great time and very memorable St. Patty's! Will stop back for a drink or two next time I'm in Boston

The Tam seems like a nice Dive type of bar with friendly people. Don't be fooled. I am a native Bostonian and will tell you first hand the staff is down right rude and nasty. I would pass it by. There are much better Irish Bars in Boston. Skip it as the neighborhood is basically a "stripper zone" Good place if you are looking for street walkers!

The Tam isn't an Irish bar, and going in thinking it's an Irish bar is bound to disappoint. (There are, however, about a zillion Irish bars in Boston, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one if that's what you want.) The Tam IS an old bar, one of the last holdovers from the old combat zone. It's not as divey as it used to be, but it's definitely a good laid-back time. There's nothing fancy about it at all. It's just people hanging out and having drinks and being loud and fun. But I've had COUNTLESS amazing days and nights here, and Patrick, the manager, is the best guy in the world. So is Dave, the weekday bartender. Say hi to them!

Had such good nights at this bar which was close to our hotel. Patrick the manager looked after us very well and we found the other patrons very friendly.
