Visited the West End museum which is tucked in near the North Station and Boston Garden. Museum is free. We enjoyed a wonderful tour given by former resident of West End (which is a area similar to the North End that was a victim of the urban renewal in the 50s.) What could have been a virbrant area like the north end was demolished to create a modern apartment. The tour brought alive through pictures and displays the people that lived, worked and the social and cultural life of these people. Leaving there and walking through the Italian North End nearby you can imagine what this part of Boston could be today. The museum also has many talks, walking tours throughout the year.
