“Good service, lots of BEER”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We didn't drink any Beer, but there was a lot! The schnitzel was amazing. Everything else was pretty average, but it was still yummy!

“Amazing German food”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

I came here with my 19 year old son, who goes to college in the area. We loved our meal and the atmosphere. The prices were reasonable, and the portions generous. We will definitely go back!

“An all round great spot!”
Reviewed 17 July 2014 via mobile

This place has a large menu which consists of German dishes such as Snitzels and Wursts as well as regular meals like burgers and and wings. Plenty of big screens around the walls, coupled with pitchers of beer, which make it a great location for sporting events. There is a fantastic sing along on Friday nights with a live pianist. Just an all round great restaurant.

“World Class for World Cup”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

It seems my family has a penchant for vacation travel during the World Cup. This go around finds us seeking out the best place in Boston for a pint & a view of the televised pitch.

We settled on Jacob Wirth as we'd strolled by it several times over the last couple of days. It's close to our lodging, as well, and the patrons always seemed to be having a great time.

A $35 minimum order was required for those wanting to get their fill of futbol & fun, which was not an issue for our party of three.

Our server was friendly & knowledgeable about the menu & the futbol, but not about the neighborhood.

My son selected the Buffalo chicken wrap, which he enjoyed very much. My spouse selected the house wurst plate & was quite impressed as well. And I chose the salmon burger, which was served on a substantial roll & topped with Boursin, capers & perfectly sliced red onion. It's probably the best burger I've ever had. The sweet potato fries were fine, as well, and required no condiments.

On the less enjoyable side: the chairs were less comfortable than a kindergarten desk & the water closets were miniscule. Otherwise, I feel that it was a fine meal and an energetic place to catch the match.

“No longer on my list”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

Went to dinner last night at the Jacob Wirth Restaurant with family before the seeing Al Pacino @the Wang. We had all eaten there before and were looking forward to some good, German food. We were sadly disappointed. Three of us had a wurst sandwich with sauerkraut and pretzel roll which consisted of the worlds smallest sausage(tasteless) cut lengthwise, a forkful of sauerkraut and stale pretzel roll. The German potato salad side that came with my dish was mushed into a small bowl. Not pretty to look at but edible. The one satisfied diner had the Jaeger Shnitzel and enjoyed that tremendously. Beer was good as always. We're striking this restaurant from our list. Totally unsatisfying experience.
