I knew the pizza was good, but a few nights ago I came to Quattro with visiting family who wanted simply, pasta. They ordered the linguini with mixed seafood. The plate came with cold hard pasta, cool, very scant shellfish. When we told the waiter, he gave us a lesson in "fresh pasta"...really? How insulting. We politely asked for another plate. In a few minutes the same plate of pasta came out..some of it was cooked and warm, other noodles were not, it cooled off in seconds and the cold shellfish was clearly just taken off the other plate and put back on. Tasteless. So, my family passed on the pasta. And had no meal. But then, we were served 4 shots of lemonchello liquor. None of us drink hard liquor, nor wanted it, but we were supposed to graciously toast to no meal!
And then, a slice of tirammisu...soggy, a mess on the plate... and we were going elsewhere for dessert. I grew up with a mother who made her own noodles, worked in an Italian bakery...if an Italian restaurant cannot bring out a steaming delicious plate of pasta, they do not have an Italian chef in the kitchen, period.

Quattro is located right on Hanover Street, with great people-watching views and a well done fried calamari. I found the main pasta dish to be a little dry, and the pizza was good if unspectacular. It's a good spot, but not a lot of wow factor. It's casual, and has items that are kid-friendly.

With so many Italian restaurant choices in the North End of Boston, we had no clue where to go or if anyone could accommodate the needs of our son’s allergies (anaphylactic to wheat, dairy, nuts, and eggs...our poor boy). After a local Bostonian recommended Quattro, we gave it a go. The manager, Mike, was AMAZING. He spent at least 15 minutes with us discussing all of our options (It was very busy, so this is even more exceptional than it seems on the surface). Everything was delicious and Mike checked on us frequently, as well as the other guests, of course. I could not recommend this place more and cannot thank Mike enough for giving us such a genuine, kind experience. Not once did I feel like he was annoyed with our requests, which were unfortunately steep in order to keep our boy safe. As a matter of fact, he insisted on serving us. This man made our dinner in Boston beyond exceptional. Thank you Quattro and specifically thank you Mike.

Had gnocchi and marguerita pizza. Both delicious. The gnocchi sauce was creamy and tomato-y. Just right. Pizza was nothing special, but very nicely done.

There's a huge choice of restaurants in the "Little Italy" part of Boston, but we're happy that we chose this one. The place was packed but they managed to find us a table, & the service was brisk but friendly. My wife enjoyed her pizza Parma & I had a delicious ham calzoni - both washed down with excellent cocktails - definitely a good choice
