Well-run boutique hotel, well located in the heart of Boston with walking access to most of the interesting spots including the North End, USS Constitution and Charlestown. The staff are user friendly and the breakfast and coffee are excellent. If you're on gov't travel breakfast is included.

Stayed here for one night to visit my grandson. This hotel is newly remodeled/redecorated. The lobby is very clean and has a restaurant just off it. I did not have an opportunity to use the restaurant but it looked very nice. My room was small; bath small but perfectly fine. Very clean, comfortable bed, nice amenities. The bathroom had a wonderful large shower (no tub). And the price was right ! For Boston, that's not easy to find for this nice a property. The location is great for walking anywhere in the north end or Beacon Hill area!

We are staying in Boston for just two nights and wanted a good hotel for a good value and centrally located. The Boxer is perfect. The rooms are very modern and sleek. Like other reviewers mentioned, they are on the small side. But we are here to see the sights, not sit in a room. My daughter, husband and I had plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was nice and hot with good water pressure (very important to me).

Gabriel at the front desk was extremely helpful. We arrived hungry and wanted somewhere close to eat. He recommend the TipTap Room and called ahead to secure us a table. It was a few minute walk and the food and service were great!

The Boxer is in a great location. The Garden is nearby. There are lots of places to eat. And the sights of Boston are within walking distance.

We would definitely stay here again.

BE CAREFUL staying at this hotel. I was in a situation with friends and we got stuck in the elevator. Rather than contacting an Engineer or Authorities, the maintenance personnel tried to pry the doors open with bolt cutters and screw drivers. We were then force to crawl out through a small space under our own strength, some ripping their clothes without any safety equipment. The incident was extremely dangerous and handled very poorly by the entire staff. If this incident was anyone besides a group of younger men this could have been a disaster!

Dear David F,

Thank you for your feedback. As requested, the full report from the elevator company has been sent to you directly and we have discussed this matter privately. If there is any further discussion, kindly contact me directly.

Our trained staff handled this situation with the best of their abilities within the appropriate time frame. It was unfortunate that the elevator went into emergency mode after those inside caused the machine to stop mid-floor, therefore forcing those to exit in an uncomfortable manner.

I appreciate any feedback regarding the property as we strive to create and enforce a high level of service amidst an array of situations. Thank you for staying with us.

Best,
Vanessa Vitale

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights to do some sightseeing in Boston. The rooms are small but sufficient, and it is quite centrally located. We were able to walk the Freedom Trail from the hotel and it provides easy access to Faneuil Hall and sections of the old town. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the free wifi worked well. It is also handy having the restaurant located in the building.

We stayed at The Boxer for one night to see some sights in Boston before traveling to another location. The hotel is very unique! Historical looking from the outside and modern inside. My family of 4 (two young kids) stayed in a King suite which was located in the very corner of the building, furthest from the elevator. The rooms were small, however, we knew that prior to booking the stay. (I've stayed in smaller rooms in NYC) The kids slept on a pull out couch which they said was comfortable. The king bed was very comfortable also. The hotel is located within walking distance to the sights and restaurants. We parked in a parking garage around the corner from the hotel. I have read some reviews where people have complained about the time it takes to retrieve their cars from valet - it's Boston people! The traffic and streets are horrible to navigate! I don't think this is the hotel's fault! I really suggest leaving your car and walking - less stressful. FYI - it took my husband about 25 minutes to get our car from the garage that was 2 short blocks away to the hotel!

The front desk service people were wonderfully helpful and friendly. They helped us out with suggestions and directions. The rooms were clean and we got extra pillows/ blankets within 10 minutes of calling the front desk to request them.
I thought it was a great value for it's location and uniqueness. If you are looking for large cookie cutter hotel rooms, there are plenty of those in the outskirts of this area for $400-500/ night.

We had a nice visit and would definitely stay at The Boxer again.

Room Tip: Corner King size bedroom (suite) is perfect for a couple.

Hotel was great, rooms are smallish, but very nice. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel restaurant is also excellent, I recommend the lobster eggs benedict. Location is great, too! Close to TD Garden and multiple subway stations, also walkable to the waterfront.
