The BSO is one of Boston's premier institutions. It presents a long season of classical music of the highest quality. The acoustics in Symphony Hall are superb and add to the experience.

If you can possibly go to a BSO concert in Symphony Hall, do so. Fabulous music, attractive and acoustically superior hall and one of the grand old ladies of Boston. Best seats are in the orchestra, sides of the balcony next to the stage or the center of the two balconies, mid to rear sides of balconies give obstructed views and a stiff neck but the sound is still worth it.
Rush tickets often available before concerts if you don't mind standing in line, several thursday morning open rehearsals have been re-instated. This is one of the finest orchestras in the USA and in one of the best halls. Snacks, and drinks can be bought in the two rooms abutting the hall and the Cafe provides an elegant and expensive buffet for pre-concert dining.

Loved the Symphony the atmosphere was completed charged and the price was great I purchased tickets right there 1/2 before the show began with an aunt that was in town.

Wonderful performance with some chilling moments. Total disaster at Will Call with lengthy lines and what appeared to be pretty disorganized (inexperienced?) staff. Make sure you get there at least half an hour early if you want to be in your seat on time. Boston Symphony do a really nice job on program notes too.

Visited Boston and was fortunate to see Boston Symphony orchestra. The historic building is beautiful and majestic in design. The acoustics were wonderful and overall atmosphere amazing. We have frequented many classical events in several cities in Canada and the US. This was one of the best. We are very fortunate to be able to attend these concerts, performed by these talented performers for little more than that of a movie at the theatre. Definitely a must see in Boston. Classical music is such a treat for the soul.
