“Love the location”
Reviewed 8 October 2010

I attended a conference at this hotel and found the concierge, check in staff, housekeeping, bartenders and all personnel easy and fun to deal with. I did have some lost items of which half were recovered. The hotel sent them to me at my expense in a very, timely manner.

I organize meetings twice a year at various locations throughout the US. I work with all hotel chains, and select the hotels based off of customer service and value. While the meeting attendees are not demanding, they have a high level of expectation that must be met. I chose the Westin Boston Waterfront to host two concurrent meetings held over the course of 3-days, with a total of 60 attendees. We catered 2 breakfasts, 1 sit down lunch, 1 brown bag lunch, 1 break, and a cocktail reception with appetizers. The meals were exceptional and they quickly replenished items as the stock was depleted. The clam chowder was so delicious that they had to replenish it three times, and many opted to enjoy en extra bowl in lieu eating the beautiful and tasty desserts.

The meeting rooms were setup as promised, including specific AV requirements. The meeting spaces were easily to access, quiet, and the lighting and HVAC were easily adjusted. While the cost of the minimal AV needs ended up being much more than expected, the service was prompt and our needs were met.

Maria Amore, the Catering Sales Manager, was always available and met with me the day before our event. She reassured me that she would check in throughout the meetings to make sure that everything was up to our satisfaction. She delivered on her promise and really made hosting the meetings effortless.

The lobby is beautiful and very grand. It made the perfect spot for some of our groups “breakout” sessions. While they aren’t on the waterfront per se, they are a short walk to several nice restaurants. They also provide a free shuttle to Faneuil Hall and many nearby restaurants, just ask the driver to drop you off.

The business center is very convenient and the staff was very helpful. It seems that there are always last minute requests for photocopying and they were always willing to quickly get the job done.

I would recommend the Westin Boston Waterfront for anyone looking for a good value, beautiful location, lovely meeting space, and delicious food. Of all the meetings I’ve hosted, this is the first review I’ve written. It was easily one of the most effortless and successful meetings I’ve been responsible for hosting.

I love this hotel and always stay here when in Boston. Although it is part of a large national chain I find that the staff goes above and beyond to personalize my visits. In particular kudos to John Sadek and Kelly Anderson who have hosted 2 hour events for our group a few times, which is terrific. It gives us a chance to socialize after hours in such a pleasant environment. It is also such a delight to arrive in my room after an all day cross country flight and find special little amenities. A terrific new addition is the free shuttle service to Faneuil Hall, a nice central location for getting to various spots like the North End for dinner. They make me feel like I'm coming back to visit friends. Love you Westin Boston Waterfront!

We stayed here because the meetings were here but it out of the area for sightseeing. They charged for everything, internet, incoming faxes, etc.

A service nightmare. 7 hours to get a room, 3.5 hours to have bags delivered, 45 minutes to get key made to get back in my room....told front desk manager would call to discuss it never happened. Most common front desk response was I'm not sure how to do that.

Food in bar was good and service excellent. Food during convention marginal with their "greek" lunch offering the worst hotel meal I've seen this year.

I am involved with 12 or convention like meetings a year and I would not recommend this hotel. If you have to work in the conference it is convenient, however the service will make you wish stayed further from the convention center.

Stayed three nights for a conference, which is the only reason to stay here. There is not much within walking distance and thus a taxi ride to much of what you want in Boston. The room was fine. We could see the waterfront in the far distance. I have to make the same comment as many reviewers about the charge for Internet access. In 2010 isn't asking if you want Internet sort of like asking if you want hot water, a private bath, etc? On the plus side, the fitness center was great.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Since we are located in the fast growing Seaport District of Boston, there are many more restaurants and tourist attractions coming in the near future that are within walking distance from the hotel. We look forward to hosting you in the future.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel with my husband. Room was average hotel room size. It was clean and bright. View of city was good. For the cost of the room internet access should be included. Location is good but need taxi to get to most points of interest.
