“Beautiful Hotel”
Reviewed 9 December 2013

I recently stayed at the Intercontinental in Boston with some friends for a reunion weekend. The hotel was beautiful, clean and clearly well managed. The room was very nice with an elegant feeling. The beds were comfortable and the amenities showed attention to detail. The bar area of the hotel was nice as well and not too noisy - a nice place to relax, maybe have a drink and talk when you aren't in your room. All staff that we encountered were friendly, helpful and professional. Overall, a great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

This was our third consecutive year hosting our company holiday party at the ICH. The Champagne Lounge is fabulous. Kerri and Laris are amazing bartenders and Marcella gets 5 stars for service! Allison was our event coordinator and provided great recommendations as to which menu items would accommodate certain dietary restrictions and how much we should order so that no one left hungry but we also didn't waste.
Because everyone in our company works remotely, we like to get together and mingle, rather than have a sit down dinner. We always have a cocktail party w/ heavy hors d'oeuvres- some are stationed and some are passed. Marcella passes a great variety of items quickly and with a big smile; everyone in our group commented on how terrific she was. The Champagne Lounge is the perfect setting for 15-30 people. We will be back again next year.

I have hosted a number of private events at the Intercontinental - both corporate and personal - and I never cease to be impressed. The facilities speak for themselves, but the staff is what truly sets this venue apart for me. Allison Neves is hands down the most helpful and attentive event planner I've ever worked with (I can say that because I've hosted a number of events at various hotels in the Boston area), and everyone who has been staffed to any of my events is incredibly friendly and accomodating. They make sure the host has just as (or more) fun as the guests, which I find very rare. The most recent event I hosted was a ladies' holiday event in the spa for ~30 women, and Allison teamed up with Kim Vaughn, manager of the spa, to put on a truly memorable afternoon. The menu was fantastic, the spa services were wonderful, and everyone had a great time! Thanks to the Intercontinental for another big success - I will definitely be hosting future events, however large or small, at this venue.

Took my wife there to celebrate a big birthday -- hotel couldn't have been more accomodating. They upgraded me to a beautiful suite, and provided chocolate-covered stawberries and champagne in our room. Their conceirge -- Luis -- was a star! Best conceirge I've ever worked with -- he deserves a big raise!! I would definately stay again.

Just in case the hotel is reading this, two suggestions: Again, keep in mind we loved the hote, but there's always room for improvement...

1) Kill the perfume/spray in the lobby. For such a wonderful hotel, you fll the lobby with some cheap-smelling spray. It smells like the pine-tree scents that taxis have hanging from their rear-view mirror.

2) I understand that hotel restaurants charge above-market prices, but I'd take a look at your breakfast menu. $7 for a cup of coffee (not cappucino -- regular coffee) and $10 for two pieces of toast (nothing special, just "supermarket out-of-the-bag" toast) is too much. We left breakfast feeling angry.

Phenomenal property right in the middle of it all! The rooms are spacious, well appointed, and exceptionally clean. The food in Sushi Teq is amazing. The Health Club has brand new equipment, and my massage at the SPA was fantastic. Make sure you request Luz if you decide to get one. The location is great. The Children's Museum, ICA, New England Aquarium, and Quincy Market are all with in walking distance. Every interaction with staff was professional and friendly. Lisa at the front desk very kind and helpful. There is no reason to stay anywhere else during your visit to Boston!

Room Tip: Spend the extra money and opt for a Fort Point Channel water view.

This hotel has so many good features including proximity to the city and waterfront, well appointed rooms, a superb bar with a great ambiance, efficient check in, great housekeeping staff and many good leisure and restaurant facilities. Restaurant and Bar service standards are good but not great for a hotel of this standard and do not compare to other Intercontinental hotels we have used. The exception to this comment is Dragon - a truly impressive bar tender whose skill, efficiency, diligence and deep commitment to customer service was second to none. If the managers were more attentive, they would spot the fact that there should be dressing gowns in the rooms, butter and side plates on the breakfast tables, that customers should be offered orange juice at breakfast and not have to request it. All the small details that set an Intercontinental hotel apart from mass market alternatives.

Superb hotel - great entrance lobby/reception area. Staff very helpful and friendly. We booked into one of the Club rooms so had the Club Lounge facility. Charles was asbsolutely fantastic - he looked after us expertly and absolutely made our stay.
Rooms are great - modern, clean and spacious.
Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Pay for a club room, it's worth the extra.
