Amazing Stay

We stayed here for a week in May/June to celebrate my 50th birthday. What an amazing hotel. Every member of staff we came across was extremely warm and friendly. Special shout out to Manta on reception. Had birthday treats sent to my room after check in.
Hotel is in a central location for exploring Boston. We had a great room with an amazing view of the river.
Thank you for helping to make our first trip to the States memorable.

Arriving a bit before the 3 pm check-in time they secured my luggage and said they would text me when my room was ready. 20 minutes later my room on the 6th floor was ready. Facing the front of the hotel I had a wonderful view of the Rose Kennedy Parkway, a beautiful green space with public art and the bustle of the area. Ok back to the room, I loved it. As I did book it via a third party online I got a great rate. With that said Wonderful corner room floor to ceiling windows, huge TV, very comfortable bed and great decor. Ordered room service, had the chicken club with truffle fries, it was excellent as was the service. Didn't touch the mini bar but it was well stocked. The bathrobe and slipper were a nice touch as was having a separate shower and soaking tub. Huge bathroom too. Now the staff, in a word, amazing! every single staff member I saw or interacted with had a smile a hello or can I assist or do you need anything. I have to single out a few Jeremy and Manta both made my stay go from amazing to absolutely fabulous. The smile on the concierge just lit up the entire lobby. I loved my stay the only problem I have is that everything else will seem blah by Comparision

Room tip: Harbor views are the back of the hotel.

We had a two night stay on our 40th Wedding anniversary trip to Boston. I called ahead and was able to secure a room with a great view. We really wanted this room and stopped at 11am and checked our bags and they told us the room with be ready at 3 pm. The first night was MIT’s alumni party and the place was crazy and unfortunately, our room wasn’t ready until after 5 pm😢. The next day we had a full day with a harbor cruise, Freedom Trail tour and got back to the hotel at 5 pm and my wife poured a glass of wine and was running a bath to relax when we got a call that an investment banking firm had reserved our whole floor and that we would need to move. Jack from the front desk was wonderful and my wife was crying on why they’d need to have our room. I tried to make peace and was thrown into the doghouse. She’s in the club lounge was wonderful and the staff did everything possible to make a horrible situation as good as possible. We would recommend that you check directly with the hotel if any special events were taking place as the MIT party and the investment firm made our stay a very disappointing experience. I gave a 5 star report due to the quality of the people I encountered and I’d give it a 2 star on what we actually received. We will give them another shot next year as we lived Boston.

We loved the location of this hotel and the rooms and pool were great for families — walking distance from the children’s museum. But we had a bad experience with the lounge. At check-in, we were told we were not being charged for use of the club lounge (great we thought!). So we went to the lounge. While there for breakfast, a staff member asked us for our room numbers. He didn’t ask anyone else. We were the only people of color in the lounge. When I asked why he asked us (and only us) for our room numbers, he told us that they liked to know the guest names so they could greet us personally (weird, not anyone else but us?). He then told us that he could make sure we had breakfast ready the next morning and even took orders from our young kids for pancakes (and gave them a choice of pancakes or waffles). We said we would be back the next morning at 7am and he confirmed that was not too early and that the pancakes would be ready by then. When we returned the next morning, there were no pancakes and the staff member said we must have misunderstood him (really? he took orders from our kids!). So our kids were left in tears and we left with a bad taste in our mouths. The club manager (who was genuinely apologetic and great, a former Marriott / Starwood manager) tried to smooth things over and took off our valet parking charges. But then at check out we found out that we were being charged for the club lounge after all. It took 30 minutes of arguing before they agreed to take the lounge charges off. To their credit they did remove the one-time pet charge as well so it felt like the front desk was trying. But it seemed like the lounge staff was snooty or even worse profiling based on race. Exposing our kids to that kind of behavior wasn’t worth the otherwise great location and rooms.

Up to brand with very attentive and friendly staff. Very good conference catering food quality. Good-sized gym. Lobby bar service very good. Room was nicely designed except for TV placement. No view at my rate. Toiletries very good. Linens just okay. Very scenic and desirable location.

Excellent location & exceptional service!! Loved every minute of our stay and looking forward to booking again when traveling to Boston. Choose valet over self parking. It’s the same price minus a few headaches. Enjoy!!😉
