Definitely the place to stay in Boston if you're looking at the Universities near Fenway - Berklee, The Boston Conservatory, etc. It's in walking distance to those schools, as well as many restaurants, a post office, and (if you need something a little more substantial for breakfast than the complimentary coffee and pastries) a grocery store is right down the street.

During our stay, the staff were incredibly helpful and respectful. We were heading out for some Thai food, when they recommended that we try a place that was comparable in price, but was much better.

The rooms were very clean, and well laid out. Lots of electrical outlets for charging devices, a nice television, and plenty of pillows. It was easy to get a good night's sleep in the quality beds & soft sheets.

The one thing I'd complain about is that when we were ready to leave, they called a Taxi for us. We were grateful at the time, especially when they said that the taxi they called would be the same price as the Taxi we took to the verb - which for us was $7 from the train station. But after the driver took us to the train station, it turned out the fare was $25 - more than 3x the amount that we paid for the drive in.

Animationication,
What a wonderful review. Thank you so much. We are very close to many Boston's universities and colleges. Our music theme is a big hit with the students and parents alike. Glad you enjoyed. We look forward to your next visit.

My hubby and I stayed here two nights 8/8-8/10. The room was very comfortable and clean with a small frig and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is no elevator if you are on the second floor. It's a great location if you are a BoSox fan. Free coffee and pastries in the morning. Nice outdoor pool. Free bottled water.

Room Tip: Some rooms have balconies and lounge chairs.

Our stay at The Verb was perfect! Chose to stay at The Verb due to its close location to The House of Blues where we saw Passenger. Such an easy walk to the House of Blues and to the Cask n Flagon Restaurant near Fenway before the concert. Such a good night sleep on the very comfortable beds. Loved having the coffee and muffins, the hotel provided, by the pool in the morning. The view of Fenway Park from the pool area and friendly conversation with the staff and guests from France made the morning even more special. The stylish décor, musical memorabilia, and song lyrics painted on the walls created such a unique and fun atmosphere! Our visit pleased both the Red Sox fans and the music fans in our family.

The Verb was great! We (boyfriend and two boys, 8 & 5) stayed here on August 1st through August 4th. Very nicely remodeled, updated bathrooms with open glass showers, great C.O. Bigelow bath products, soft, fresh bath towels (that should've been washed first, as they were very linty) and super friendly staff everywhere! We will definitely be back for another stay!

Room Tip: Room 237 has a view of nothing but the back alley & the dumpster...that was not expected. We we...

We visited The Verb Hotel for 3 days from aug 6th to the 9th and have only wonderful things to say about it. It was opening week but everything was very well organized. The rooms are nice, trendy and confortable, and there is a nice pool area. In the morning, they serve coffee and pastries at reception. Thé staff is very helpful and friendly ( special thanks to Mason and Jason ).

We definetely Will be back the next time we are ni Boston.

I caught a good price last minute on a travel site. This is a remodeled Howard Johnson Motor Lodge. They did a really good job on that. The bathrooms are we done. I had a large walk in shower and the towels were really nice. The bed was great, probably because it's new.
The location is great if you are going to be in that part of town, lots of bars and restaurants and Fenway Park. Kenmore is the closest T stop and that is about a five minute walk.
They put out pastry and coffee in the morning but the lobby is awkward to sit and eat in.
The pool looked ok, I didn't use. It is in the middle of the inside courtyard and didn't look like it gets much sun.
I didn't drive there but the parking lot is accessible and the valets always said hi and looked helpful.
I may stay again if I catch a good rate again. Not sure in the winter with the walk to the T and I don't work in that part of town.

Wifey took me there for a night for my bday. Great quirky place, the staff is very cool and attentive, always smiling and on point. We got the room that has old school phone and alarm clock (the whole decor is set to 70s 80s rock excess) and this is the only room with a deck and direct acces to the pool, which is heated (big plus). The in-room minibar was empty (extremely disappointed) and the deck actually is a hop away from the pool, those are the only complaints about the room itself. Outside, ehy this self styled rock n roll hotel does NOT have a poolside bar is a complete mistery, but I bet it has to do with the great city of boston anf its weird regulations... that or hotel management really did a doozy on that one. Great experience overall, got to meet some great people by the pool (although it closes at 10... another tragic miss that I bet has to do with it being in the middle of a residential area). A simple table with coffee, juice and muffins is available in the lobby (not sure until what time, it was 10 am when we decided to check out and it was still going strong)

So glad you and wifey enjoyed your stay with us. Also, as a BTW, we have an exciting new restaurant partner. Tim and Nancy Cushman opening are opening a cool, funky, quirky bar and restaurant right here at The Verb Hotel. So next time you are here...a poolside drink on me. Thank you for taking the time to do a review. We really appreciate it.
