You're thinking "WHO thought that THIS should be made into a ??musical??", right? This is a live performance of the famed movie...and it fares well, although earlier Broadway and other companies tried to revive it the first few times in live performances resulting in poor reviews, DON'T believe the negative history of it and go see for yourself!
You will recall one of the first stories about the ultimate act of revenge on high school bullies...this is brought to life with convincing roles of Carrie's over-protective mother and mean classmates, set with live band music and song. Complete with some really great stage effects (that page turn was pretty cool) of Carrie's supernatural powers...and yes...there WILL be BLOOD! Count on it!
If you're lucky enough to attend one of the shows with the post-performace Q&A with the actors and other folks involved in the production, you will have an opportunity to ask burning questions such as: "Why?" (haha) and what is the blood really made of, among other things!
We came with open minds and are so glad we took the opportunity to see the great bunch of actors (there are many) comprising the cast of this very satisfying and entertaining musical. The auditorium was on the cool side, we were glad we brought sweaters. The seats were individual, generous sized chairs = comfortable.
If you're going to be in Boston, check it out as it is only running for a short period!
