“Pretty much enjoyed my stay”
Reviewed 16 November 2011

stayed 5nights in this hotel to attend a convention... 1. Location - 5 min ride from airport.. a casual 5-10 min walk to conv ctr , 5 min walk to a 7-11 store , multiple restaurants outside... a 20 min walk to city centre , quincy hall , advisable to instead take a cab .. 2. Lobby , small quaint luxurious ...3. Rooms , quite small but functional , beds comfortable, with good lighting , bathroom adequate but no separate shower , huge Lcd Tv , airconditioning has good temperature control ...4. Staff .. very polite and professional in approach , from the front desk , bell staff , concierge, what they call the 'navigator' , housekeeping personnel ....5. Restaurant, the 606 congress , only one in the hotel , is where i had my daily buffet breakfast , providing extensive choices, fair enough , which serves good food, i also had dinner once , and i would say that the staff are quite polite and friendly ...6. Internet ..free in our room.. they provided us with a password, included in my package .., internet free in the lobby where a desktop computer can be found.. 6. Business center , indoor pool and health spa accessible with a card key and open 24 hrs ..7. starbucks , yes.. there is one beside the lobby .... overall very much satisfied with this 4-5 star hotel quality most especially giving comfort in the midst of a winter storm during that time

Room Tip: request for rooms with with bay views if the front desk staff would oblige

We recently stayed at this hotel for the holiday weekend. Very nice hotel. I do think it is ridiculous that they charge $42/day for parking when you're spending over $300/night to stay at this place. The purpose of our trip was to visit the Quincy Market area. We walked from the hotel to Quincy Market in about 20 minutes so if you have issues walking long distances I would recommend that you drive there. There wasn't much around the hotel for breakfast so we decided to try the buffet right in the hotel. It was good, nothing to rave about but like any other hotel was overpriced. The room was clean and a nice size. Bathroom was clean. Another thing to mention is that if you are staying with kids, make sure you ask for a room with a tub. Ours only had a shower. There was a mini fridge also. We stayed on the 7th floor and I could hear music very clearly at 11pm. I'm assuming it was coming from the lobby so that's another thing to take into consideration if you have children or like the quiet. I would stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel and my expectations were pretty high when a friend of mine who lives in the Boston area referred to it as a upscale hotel. It wasn't. It was an average hotel in my opinion. The rooms were a fairly good size and the front desk staff was very good. I decided at the last minute to change my flight to leave after staying only one night instead of two about 1 hour after the check out time. The front desk didn't even mention that I was late for check-out and checked me out without a problem. The lobby bar with the live entertainment on Friday night was a very nice touch. If you are looking for a comfortable mid class hotel near the convention center and airport, this is a very good choice. If you are looking for more luxury, this is not the place for you.

Room Tip: Stay in a waterfront room

We stay here overnight with a voucher from our credit card company so it was essentially free. That being said we did think the room was a great value. The room was spacious and very clean. The lobby bar was very cool and there was a Starbucks attached. The buffet breakfast was awesome!
my only complaint is that the location on the waterfront meant we had to take cabs into Back Bay but the value was worth that inconvenience.

This hotel is in a great location. It is close to the airport and some new restaurants on the water. The hotel itself is modern and clean and service is great. The lobby bar had lots of seating and good drinks, but bar entertainment was HORRIBLE, I would have been happier listening to elevator music than to a band still using their guitar training wheels. Parking was also a project, it's either valet or a garage a few blocks away. It would be nice if there was an elevator from the garage that went right to the hotel. The hotel is also freezing in many areas- the bar, lobby, meeting rooms- bring an extra sweater. I would stay here again.

The Renaissance name illicits a certain level of service and refinement that are somewhat missing from this location.
A nice hotel, but not when the lobby, restaurants and bar lose their air conditioning in the summer and the front desk staff misinforms you that it’s hotel wide and you are having to wait on your room at 5 pm. Not a great way to start off your stay.
The rooms were comfortable and appointed as you would expect for a hotel of this caliber, and they deliver. Just not so much with the room service. In fact the entire food side of the hotel was lacking terribly, but they did preserve the good old stand-by Marriott Burger and did it justice. That was about it. It’s saving grace, the staff in the bar and restaurants were good, but not great, so I’d have to say the saving grace is it’s 2 blocks from Del Frisco’s Boston. Grab your OpenTable app and make reservations there, don’t waste your time thinking of trying to figure out what type of cuisine is served at the hotel, it’s not worth it, and it’s not pulled off very well. Again, the burger was good and should be at $15 just make sure you bring everything you like on your burger to your room before you order, because when you order room service, any requests like for extra ketchup or A1 or other things goes on deaf ears and then the server is annoyed they have to make 2 trips, or three. And your meal is cold by the time you get what your ordered. It’s not rocket science, just rocky service.
It’s a great location, but doesn’t quite hit the mark for a really great hotel. But perhaps a very good hotel could be said.

Room Tip: High Floor Harbor View
