“Cold trip”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

As we entered the compound, we were not greeted or felt welcomed. We stood in a check-in line but not sure if we were at the "check-in area. Our name was mispelled on their database. The front desk female manager (on 11/23/13) was just as cold as the sterile place. She told us I'm sorry we do not have your name...next person in line! OMG! I asked another young man to research a bit further, he was able to find it. The hotel layout was unfriendly and NOT family oriented. What a shame.

Green Features: I am not sure what this hotel does for practice. Perhaps not giving enough towels in a room for four.

This was a pretty nice experience. I stayed here Thursday to Monday before Thanksgiving. The Executive Lounge was only available Thursday night and Friday morning due to the holidays, so I was given coupons for breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning (none for Monday morning oddly enough). Check in Thursday night went well with an upgrade to a harbor view room. The room was good size with a nice view of the park below and the harbor, but a table and chair would have been nice since there is certainly room for them. Breakfast buffet was served downstairs in the restaurant/bar combination and offered the usual fare of fruit, cereals, breads, as well as eggs and bacon/sausage.

I enjoyed the location. I was there for sightseeing and enjoyed the benefit of the hop-on/hop-off bus which stops right outside the hotel. As others have said, there are several restaurants and an excellent deli in the immediate area.
Getting to and from the hotel was a snap. The silver line bus stops right across the street from the hotel and is free from the airport and only $2 going back to the airport.

The service was friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable with a good selection of HD channels on the TV. I had a room that connected to the room next door, so there was some unwanted conversations that was overheard through the door. The hotel is a little pricey and I only stayed here due to a good rate I found on the Marriott website. I do recommend if the price is right.

Stayed over Thanksgiving. Restaurant was closed for renovations and not much open in the area to eat. Parking was expensive - we knew that when we booked, but we had a storage pod on the roof so we would not fit in valet parking. Parked 3 blocks away. Room was large and clean. Great shower. Walls were a little thin. We were on the 17th floor with great water views. The navigator in the lobby was very helpful in getting directions to shopping, etc. Free wifi in lobby area only.

We stayed at this hotel Thanksgiving week. Since we had a car and planned on using Boston as a base for exploring other areas of New England, we did not feel like we needed to be in the heart of downtown. Be aware that this hotel is a little out of the way. It took us around half an hour or so to walk to the tourist areas. There is, however, a bus stop on the silver line that is adjacent to the hotel, so you don't have to walk downtown. And there are plenty of restaurants that are a five minute or less walk from the hotel, including a Legal Sea Foods, a Legal Test Kitchen, and Del Frisco's Steakhouse, among others.

The rooms were comfortable and cheerily decorated. There was plenty of room for our baggage. Parking is expensive ($46 per day), but we knew this when booking and it is around the same amount we would have had to pay anywhere else in the city. The food in the hotel bar was surprisingly good. Room service was also very prompt and good.

Staff here was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the bar staff. We arrived early on our first day and lady at the front desk found an available room for us that had a great view of the water. They also helped us with directions when we needed them and with restaurant suggestions.

I have only one minor complaint with the housekeeping. On two separate occasions, room service items were left outside our door for at least 2 days before being removed (not whole trays, but napkins, glasses and cutlery). I thought this was odd. Also, although we consistently reminded staff that we had 4 people in our room we were only ever brought bath linens for 3, so we had to call down for more almost daily. I could also tell that our room was not really cleaned much on one day of our stay, as hair was not swept off the floor and toothpaste was not cleaned from the sink.

Stayed there recently for a convention. Not happy with the $16.95/day wifi charge. For me, that is a deal-breaker, and means I would not stay here again. The wifi charge was forgiven for the conference attenders, but is a heavy hit for other visitors, especially when most less expensive hotels and motels offer wifi with room rate -- and in fact, the "other" conference hostel for our group does not charge for wifi and offers similar room rates. That said, the room was spacious with plenty of storage space, convenient and generous work space for computer, lovely views, very comfortable bed, and well-supplied bath. Starbucks in the lobby for breakfast and lunch if you want convenience but not the hotel's food offerings.

Arrived and valet took my car. It took a few minutes for the valet to come out to the car, but the service was pretty good, although it was very expensive at $46/day. I was very disappointed to find out that that day there was some "emergency" in the kitchen, and there was no food in the bar, restaurant, or room service. I arrived at 8 pm and was looking forward to eating at the bar and relaxing the the very stylish lobby and bar. I had to go out and find a place to eat outside. The good part is that at least there are numerous eateries very close to the hotel. The location is nice on the water, and good views as well. The rooms were very clean, but nothing too fancy. It looked a lot like a Marriott. The bathroom had nice Aveno amenities. Too bad these hotels at this level still do not offer free wifi in the rooms. A bottle of water in the room was $4, where I would expect it to be complimentary as an elite member of Marriott. It is frustrating that Marriott nickels and dimes for these basics...

Room Tip: A higher floor will offer better views.

Went here for a Thanksgiving get away. This hotel is nothing special. Beds are uncomfortable. Sounds like the walls are paper thin. You can hear whats going on in neighboring rooms. Parking is expensive. Bar area is small and service wasn't that great. Great location in the summer, not in the winter.
