“A good stay on the Boston waterfront”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

Stayed here for a week while attending a conference. Easy transfer from the airport on the Silver Line - the Silver Line Way stop is opposite the hotel. The room was standard Marriott group but very comfortable and housekeeping did a great job. Have Marriott gold status and so had breakfast in the Concierge Lounge which had a range of breads, fruit and cereals and hot sausages and eggs. Was never busy so a very pleasant way to start the day. The lounge is closed at weekends, however. Gold and platinum members are given vouchers for a continental breakfast in the restaurant but for some reason I was not given them at checkin. This caused a bit of confusion on the Saturday morning but was soon resolved by the excellent restaurant host.

I ate in the bar a couple of evenings and enjoyed the local Harpoon ale and burgers and sandwiches.

There are restaurants in the vicinity and its a short walk to downtown.

I stayed at this hotel during a conference at the BCEC. It is very close to the exhibition centre and right along the T Silver Line. The only downside (as in most higher-end places) is no free WiFi. But the hotel was well-kept, clean and pretty quiet. The beds were very comfortable, as well.

Clean, nice, decent location right outside of the main heart of Boston. The service was good and the hotel seemed updated with latest amenities. Wish the internet was free which is always a gripe I have at "business" hotels. I'd stay again in the right conditions.

We stayed here the weekend after Memorial Day. Original room had 2 doubles, but Eric at the desk was able to get us the king we requested when we made our reservations. Room is clean and spacious. Bathroom is modern with large glass enclosed shower (no tub). Tile and grout is clean and shiner. Bed very comfy and linens soft. Location is a couple blocks from the WTC Convention Ctr and harbor cruise lines. Would definitely stay here again. Comparable rates to other Boston hotels.

Admittedly I stayed here as there was a conference being held at this hotel. But overall the hotel is great. The staff was typically friendly and helpful. My room was spotless and comfortably appointed - typical Marriott fashion - just what I expect.

For those who have access the Concierge Suite is above average in every regard.

The only fact is that the hotel is a bit removed from the rest of the downtown. Depending on your purpose this can be a plus or a slight minus. I have typically stayed downtown at the Copley Marriott. Obviously that's in the heart of the business and downtown districts. But being on the Waterfront has definite advantages too. The Renaissance is surrounded by some great restaurants and sports bars. It's less hectic and serves as a bit of an escape without being too far from downtown. Note, you'll want to cab it into downtown.

One final point, the Convention Center is a short walk away too.

Nothing fancy for the price-but I wanted for the location-which was perfect-waterfront and restaurants as well as arts district. Bars were nice and a Starbucks in hotel. They need to update carpet in hallways-dated and dingy.

I came here for business to be stuck in the convention hall for 5 days. The hotel was a quick walking distance to the center and a few decent restaurants. There is only hard wire internet couldnt fine wifi, The room was a normal size nothing special, but again if your here to see the city than normal is all you need. The only rooms that have a view are on the top of the hotel. The food was ok, the bar does the trick when your here for work. Cabs are everywhere we used uber alot. No major tips on where to place the room we did not have a problem with hearing anyone.

Room Tip: If you can get the room on the top floor you will have a view of the harbor otherwise no view

Green Features: the desk help was friendly and helpful. We did not have any problems while we stayed there
