“Super, Free Must-See in Boston”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

Follow the Freedom Trial north across the bridge to Old Ironsides! Well worth the trip but come early as lines were forming at the TSA style xray entrance. Visitor center is full of history from the surrounding naval yards that help defend the USA. I found the graphics of the rope line and ironworks with the innovative manufacturing techniques very interesting as was the 10 minute video.
All guides are Naval enlisted men and women in several styles of uniforms. All were very willing to share their knowledge of the ship and area. Glad we made the trip!

“Patriotic Duty to see this”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

To me, this is one of those attractions that you climb aboard and become "Patriotic". Doesn't matter where you originate from. Well kept ship and honestly a must see. Interesting to imagine how it was to be aboard that ship during its time at sea.

“Beautifully maintained ship!”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Truly a piece of history that is a must-see in Boston. The ship is beautifully maintained and staffed with enlisted servicemen. Plenty of access on main deck and 1st level with a peek into the Commander's quarters, but I wish we could have gotten to see the living quarters that were below.

“Nice ship”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

We were able to tour this ship today and it was very unique. It was a very first for my wife and I. There was no charge and there are 3 decks where a guide gives you a tour explaining what went on thru the ship.

“Neat history, a bit touristy”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

I'm glad I can say I've seen this ship and recommend it, but in it's preserved form of "ready for tourists to climb aboard", I found it a little cheesy. Granted, I know they have to do keep the ship like it is partly for safety. Also, don't get me wrong. There is still good history here. It's a little out of the way, but not really that bad. Especially if you can time it with the water taxi. It would probably be well worth doing the actual tour, but we didn't have time for that and just wandered around.
