This is a very cool place. Make a reservation. We were ushered down the stairs to the clubby feel created by the music from the jazz band and the hum of the diners. The exposed brick and steel inferred a long Boston history, simple lighting effects reflected off the walls. Now the order. Our waiter was French and excellent. He worked with us and chef to arrange dairy free preparations for one of our party. A starter of calamari with peas and asparagus was terrific with the fresh bread for dipping - rich without butter.
My steak frites had unique and delicious plank cut potatoes instead of fries, crisp and juicy. Others enjoyed the Swordfish, soft-shelled crabs and lasagna. The cheesecake was also unique and exceptional. I don't throw out food compliments casually and everything I tasted here was well balanced, well prepared and above the mark. Good food. Good chef. One last item. If you like a good vodka cocktail in a martini glass. I LOVED the Queen Bee.
