“Great option close to centre and T stations”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2013

The Chandler Inn was perfect for our weekend for the Boston Marathon. Looks like it's been recently refurbished, rooms were lovely. Our bathroom was clean and nicely done if but a bit small. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There are no other facilities eg breakfast etc. Though there are plenty of great breakfast/lunch/dinner options within walking distance. Back Bay T station is minutes walk away if you go across the bridge and in the back entrance. Stunning bakery/food option Flour is minutes away though of course packed due to the marathon. Copley Sq, Prudential building/mall, Newbury St etc all within 10-15mins walk.

Room Tip: Best rooms as in most hotels would be on a high floor and at the end

Great little hotel with everything you need and nothing you don't. If you want to somewhere a few minutes walk from central Boston that has high standards without the high prices, this is the place. The only issue is a slight problem with soundproofing - if you have noisy neighbours and don't sleep well, you may have a problem.

The room is small but the design is nice. It's clean and comfy. Free wifi and all amenities needed. The location is good and the staff is really helpful. The parking is 1 block from the hotel and costs 27$/24 hours. Nearby you have a 7-eleven.
The room was a good value for the money.

My boyfriend and I really liked this hotel. The room was a good size and very clean, and the modern decor was pretty interesting,. The staff was very helpful and even called us a cab when we asked them for directions to our destination.

I stayed here in February while my better half was in town for a rather large convention taking place in Boston over Valentine's Day weekend. All in all, it was a positive experience.
The Chandler Inn is a rather under-the-radar sort of boutique hotel. It sits pretty centrally in a very quiet and pleasant neighborhood.
The lobby is small, comfortable and has a really convenient coffee machine. The staff at the front desk aren't up your backside, but they're friendly, pleasant and helpful people. This was my impression of the staff throughout my entire stay.
The hotel is extremely clean and completely devoid of those disgusting "air freshener" smells or any overpowering artificial fragrances. The housekeeping department get both thumbs up from me. Make sure that you leave them something.
The rooms are very modern in decor. The space itself is smaller, but well utilized. The beds are comfortable. The windows are adequately sized so that you needn't feel claustrophobic and the bathrooms come fully stocked with just about anything you could need.
Now this next point wasn't an issue for me, as I'm not a light sleeper; but if you are, and you're staying over a weekend, you may want to request an interior room, if available. There's a pretty busy gay bar downstairs in the corner of the building named Fritz (lolz). From the outside, it looks a bit like a gay Cheers (appropriate, right?); but in the night time, there was definitely some loud *untz untz untz untz untz* music playing that was audible through a closed window. As I said before, it didn't keep me from going to sleep, but it could be a royal thorn in the backside of a light sleeper. Fair warning.
There's a really good little breakfast spot around the corner called Billy's. Just a sit down little greasy spoon. You're also a mere 15 or so minute walk from the convention center. Either way, it's central enough and there's a decent amount of stuff in the area to do/see.
I would be happy to stay here again.

This hotel is no frills with rooms that are very small but very clean. For the price you just can't beat it for the great location with easy access to the T and some great restaurants. The staff is extremely accommodating and very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations.

I travel to Boston very often for work. Chandler Inn is my home away from in Boston. I have stayed in various hotels in Boston over the years but this hotel felt safe and warm and perfect for a woman traveling alone.
The manager, Gretchen, who looks like a movie star, is friendly, resourceful and helpful. The rest of the staff follows her in their kindness and hospitality.
The rooms are fabulous- best matresses of all hotels in Boston. I have a bad back and I sleep like a baby.
