“Great choice”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

I whole heartedly endorse the Chandler Inn hotel. I wanted a hotel that was close to a T station, relatively close to from downtown, well-rated and not too expensive. I chose the the Chandler Inn after much research and I'm very happy to report that it exceeded my expectations! My wife & I stayed for 3 nights in June '14 and we'd choose Chandler Inn again if we return to Boston. The Chandler Inn staff were friendly & helpful. The hotel was very clean and it was quiet inside. Our room (which was on the 8th floor) was especially quiet when the window was closed and the AC was on (I consider the quietness a significant plus). The room & bed were comfortable. As the hotel website identifies, the room and bathroom were small but we found them "not too small". There was almost no counter space in the bathroom but there was plenty of room on the desk & nightstand in the main room. We chose the Continental Breakfast option for having breakfast in the Trophy Room bar that adjoins the hotel and found the food (fruits, cereals, bagels, muffins, yogurt, ham & cheese, etc.) & beverages (OJ, coffee, tea, milk, etc.) ample and satisfying. Again, we'd happily choose Chandler Inn again for our next trip to Boston.

My wife and I stayed at the Chandler Inn overnight for a second time the first weekend of June and were just as impressed as the first stay. The hotel is a great choice for anyone who is looking to spend a good amount of time walking around Boston. It is close to 2 T stations and really not that far of a walk from downtown. Sure the rooms and bathrooms are small but everything is clean and very well presented. The area is great and neither can the free on-street parking over the weekends. Three things keep me from rating this an excellent hotel, one is the mattress, it is very firm. Second is the pillows, they are very soft, all of them. Third is the shower head, for such a nice big shower the shower head could be better or at least be more thoroughly cleaned. Overall, we'll stay here again for our next trip to Boston and you should consider it as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor corner room so you can open both large windows on a nice night.

I stayed at Chandler Inn for 7 nights at the end of May 2014 for $209/night (plus approximately $200 more total for taxes for all nights). I chose Chandler Inn because it was one of the least expensive hotel options with a great location. The nearest T station is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. The public gardens are a 10-15 minute walk. Faneuil Hall is about a 15-20 minute walk. I was very pleased with Chandler Inn from the moment I arrived.

The hotel lobby is small but accommodating. The Trophy Room is the attached restaurant/bar. It serves free continental breakfast (or hot breakfast for a $4 upgrade fee) during the week and an open brunch during weekends and holidays. The Trophy Room served the best eggs benedict I have ever had. Be advised the bar does become extremely crowded at night. The lobby staff are friendly and helpful.

The room was small but had all necessities. I stayed in a queen boutique. The room contained a desk, chair, two nightstands with plenty of drawer space, a bed, a hanging rack with 10 hangers, a large flat screen TV, and a full length mirror. There were several areas to store large luggage but don't expect a lot of wiggle room. The bathroom was very small. The space was enough for one person to stand comfortably. The shower was extremely accommodating. It was sizeable enough for 3 adults (only speculation - I didn't try this out). Again, do not expect any wiggle room in the bathroom unless you are actually showering.

Overall, I have only praises for Chandler Inn. My room was clean, comfortable and centrally located. I would (and already have) recommend Chandler Inn to friends and family. I have peace of mind knowing that I will never have to do hotel research again when travelling to Boston.

Lets just say this up front Boston is not cheap for hotel stays. The Chandler Inn is priced better than a lot of the hotels in the area. We paid 189 plus tax. The rooms are small and very chicly furnished. It had all the features that are a must. Close to the T so that all areas of the city are easily accessible. You are close to all of the historic areas and walking is the best mode of transportation. Let it be know Boston is a easy city to get lost in, but I must say the people realize that it is a hard town offer directions with great happiness to share their great city, Go explore! In the Hotel we bought a package of excursions that included the Hop on Hop off bus tour, The Boston Tea Party, and a Cruise of the Harbor. A great value and it is a 2 day package that allows you to spread out the adventures of the city and it doubles as transportation all for 40$ per person!

Room Tip: Ask for one of the corner rooms for twice the light (windows) and views of the city! If you like lig...

I chose the Chandler Inn because it was reasonably priced and had a preferential rate for parking at a local indoor car park. Boston is an expensive city to stay in and a very expensive city to park in.

The Chandler Inn is located probably about 10-15 minutes walk from what people would call the city centre. It is on a quiet leafy street in a quaint part of the city. It is easy to find when out and about and is close to small local supermarkets for provisions. The room was immaculately clean and well appointed. The bathroom was small but perfectly formed. The air con was effective and quiet and there was a large flat screen tv with a huge choice of channels. My only issue with anything in the room was the lack of anywhere in the bathroom to put toiletries, a small shelf would be a nice addition.

I really can't fault this place and it was not asking for the eye watering prices similar places in Boston are asking. I would strongly recommend the Chandler Inn and would definitely stay there again if I return to Boston.

Stayed here for 3 nights in May- room was small but I expected from reviews and pictures. Our air conditioner was super loud and they tried fixing it but no luck- they were able to move us to a different room on the same floor the next day. The front desk staff are very friendly & give great directions. Subway access a few blocks away- lots of places to eat & drink nearby.
