“Excellent value for money”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

Really pleased with this place. It's well located and excellent value for money. Rooms were clean, modern and had everything you need. The location is great for exploring Boston and the neighbourhood has plenty of good places to eat.

As others have said, if you stay check out the South End Buttery cafe nearby.

My husband and I visited Boston in early June, and we chose the Chandler Inn due to its close location to the orange and green T station lines and its relatively inexpensive rate. We were very glad we chose it - we were within walking distance from a lot of shops and restaurants in a great neighborhood, had easy access to downtown and Fenway via the T, the staff was very friendly and helpful (including accommodating an early check-in and holding our bags the last day of our trip), and the rooms were pretty comfortable. The biggest downside was the small size of the rooms, which we were anticipating from other reviews. There is no closet (just a rack to hang clothes on), and the bathroom is very compact, though well-designed. My husband and I are both thin and not particularly tall, and we still had to squeeze in and out of the shower. We were comfortable there for 4 nights, but any longer and the size might have become an issue. Note that the hotel has fairly limited amenities - don't expect a pool, room service, or fitness center - though we did get one day of complimentary breakfast at the attached bar/restaurant. Bottom line - we would go back again if we're visiting Boston.

My husband and I recently visited Boston for a week and we were told to stay in the Back Bay area. The Chandler Inn was near a more expensive hotel that a friend recommended, so we figured it was at least in the right area and it offered a more affordable price. We found out it was the PERFECT location. The Chandler Inn is situated in a picturesque neighborhood close to shopping and restaurants and the T. It was fantastic. The staff were super friendly each time we passed the front desk. The rooms are clean and newly remodeled in a modern yet comfortable style. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience. Also, when you stay, check out the South End Buttery cafe nearby. Delightful.

Room Tip: Better views on higher floors. Even the fourth floor was great.

We had a great experience staying at the Chandler Inn for a wedding. The location seemed to be convenient to everything and the service was excellent. I was aware from reading other reviews that the room was small and did not have a closet, but it was completely adequate for a weekend stay. There was a place to hang clothes, plenty of drawers, and a place to slide suitcases under a side table...no closet needed. You cannot beat this hotel for the price. Clean, sleek design, and great service!

I whole heartedly endorse the Chandler Inn hotel. I wanted a hotel that was close to a T station, relatively close to from downtown, well-rated and not too expensive. I chose the the Chandler Inn after much research and I'm very happy to report that it exceeded my expectations! My wife & I stayed for 3 nights in June '14 and we'd choose Chandler Inn again if we return to Boston. The Chandler Inn staff were friendly & helpful. The hotel was very clean and it was quiet inside. Our room (which was on the 8th floor) was especially quiet when the window was closed and the AC was on (I consider the quietness a significant plus). The room & bed were comfortable. As the hotel website identifies, the room and bathroom were small but we found them "not too small". There was almost no counter space in the bathroom but there was plenty of room on the desk & nightstand in the main room. We chose the Continental Breakfast option for having breakfast in the Trophy Room bar that adjoins the hotel and found the food (fruits, cereals, bagels, muffins, yogurt, ham & cheese, etc.) & beverages (OJ, coffee, tea, milk, etc.) ample and satisfying. Again, we'd happily choose Chandler Inn again for our next trip to Boston.

My wife and I stayed at the Chandler Inn overnight for a second time the first weekend of June and were just as impressed as the first stay. The hotel is a great choice for anyone who is looking to spend a good amount of time walking around Boston. It is close to 2 T stations and really not that far of a walk from downtown. Sure the rooms and bathrooms are small but everything is clean and very well presented. The area is great and neither can the free on-street parking over the weekends. Three things keep me from rating this an excellent hotel, one is the mattress, it is very firm. Second is the pillows, they are very soft, all of them. Third is the shower head, for such a nice big shower the shower head could be better or at least be more thoroughly cleaned. Overall, we'll stay here again for our next trip to Boston and you should consider it as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor corner room so you can open both large windows on a nice night.
