So we arrived in Boston with our friend who we surprised by our visit. The hotel received many great reviews and some complaints. The location of the hotel surprised the heck out of us for the price we paid. It was walking distance from many area locations including the Quincy Market and the Aquarium. We arrived at curbside on school street and walked up the stairs into this HUGE lobby which had plenty of character and resembled some castles. We were taken back by the sheer size of it and immediately thought "This is a fancy posh place".
Up to the counter where we checked in very quickly. The young lady made sure we knew to call if anything at all and made our first interaction very positive. We took the elevator up to our room which was 810.
Room: We booked two double beds. The initial entry into the room was comforting in that it was clean and smelled great. Some people complained about the size of the room however we had no problem with it. The fridge was stocked with plenty of items to drink and snacks HOWEVER they were very EXPENSIVE so we left them alone. (there is a CVS and 711) not far from the hotel.
Bathroom: The bathroom was very small however very functional and very clean.
Amenities at the Hotel: We spent most of our time outside.
VEGAN OPTIONS: My wife went to the front desk to ask about local restaurants who offer vegan options after we tried looking on the internet. A gentleman kindly provided a standard form for local area breakfast places. When asked if he knew if they were vegan he responded by telling my wife that she could have a fruit bowl and that would do". Not exactly leaving a positive interaction with staff.
We had a minor luggage malfunction where our samsonite combo lock would not open as it did when we packed it. A quick trip to the lobby to see if they could help immediately sent a service man up to cut the lock. Very professional and very polite.
Upon checking out we again met a very pleasant young lady who genuinely cared about our stay. I explained that negative comments read on-line were not true. A few welcomed laughs were exchanged and it left a positive feeling towards the hotel.
