“Our Stay in Omni Parker Hotel Boston”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2013

So we arrived in Boston with our friend who we surprised by our visit. The hotel received many great reviews and some complaints. The location of the hotel surprised the heck out of us for the price we paid. It was walking distance from many area locations including the Quincy Market and the Aquarium. We arrived at curbside on school street and walked up the stairs into this HUGE lobby which had plenty of character and resembled some castles. We were taken back by the sheer size of it and immediately thought "This is a fancy posh place".
Up to the counter where we checked in very quickly. The young lady made sure we knew to call if anything at all and made our first interaction very positive. We took the elevator up to our room which was 810.

Room: We booked two double beds. The initial entry into the room was comforting in that it was clean and smelled great. Some people complained about the size of the room however we had no problem with it. The fridge was stocked with plenty of items to drink and snacks HOWEVER they were very EXPENSIVE so we left them alone. (there is a CVS and 711) not far from the hotel.

Bathroom: The bathroom was very small however very functional and very clean.

Amenities at the Hotel: We spent most of our time outside.

VEGAN OPTIONS: My wife went to the front desk to ask about local restaurants who offer vegan options after we tried looking on the internet. A gentleman kindly provided a standard form for local area breakfast places. When asked if he knew if they were vegan he responded by telling my wife that she could have a fruit bowl and that would do". Not exactly leaving a positive interaction with staff.

We had a minor luggage malfunction where our samsonite combo lock would not open as it did when we packed it. A quick trip to the lobby to see if they could help immediately sent a service man up to cut the lock. Very professional and very polite.

Upon checking out we again met a very pleasant young lady who genuinely cared about our stay. I explained that negative comments read on-line were not true. A few welcomed laughs were exchanged and it left a positive feeling towards the hotel.

Room Tip: I encourage everyone to take advantage and sign up for the Omni Hotel Rewards program. In doing so y...

I recently spent two nights at the Omni Parker House and was so pleased with everything. I travel frequently and this property does not let you down in any way.

The staff goes above and beyond to meet your needs. When I checked in, Neil was fantastic. His recommendation for a meal was perfect! I went to Silvertone and the food was delicious. The guys behind the bar were fun as well as the crowd they were serving.
I would recommend The Omni Parker House to anyone!! Thank you for making my great trip even greater!!

I stayed at the Omni Parker for 2 nights while on business in Boston. This was my first and eventually also last stay in this hotel. When you book a room at the Omni Parker, the website claims to offer free internet. The surprise comes when you log-in at the hotel and realize that only 3MB are free. Imagine how fast 3MB are used when reading emails and go to some websites. You not even find information about the charges, which will occur when you go beyond the 3MB, well I found that on the room bill, USD 9.95 for one day, which I find is outrageous!

Besides the internet rip-off, I find the hotel to be dated, the rooms are clean but the air-condition in the room is an old and loud machine. You need ear-plugs if you want to get a good night sleep or turn off the thing completely, which is not a good idea in the winter for the room cools down rather quickly. OK, the location is a selling point but you will find better hotels for the same price at similar locations if you incorporate the charges for using the web!
.

Room Tip: Check the internet policy, you only get 3MB for free and then pay USD 9.95 per day!

We apologize for not informing this guest at check-in that all WiFi charges would be waived if he simply joined our complimentary Select Guest program! Other Tripadvisor reviewers have taken advantage of this great offering which includes numerous other perks! Signing up on line is easy and free!

My husband stayed at the Omni for nearly a month for work and I joined him towards the end of his stay. The Omni Parker is a beautiful hotel and is full of history. The Last Hurrah is fantastic and the room service from the restaurant was also excellent. My only gripe would be the rooms are incredibly small, lucky the location makes up for the room size and the bed was super comfy, I do think the housekeeping services could be better however I have had worse. Overall the stay lovely, the staff were incredible and I would stay at the Omni Parker again.

Great location! The rooms were quite small but worked. The restaurant (Parker's) had amazing food. They had no problem with me checking in early and checking out late. Despite a lot being closed due to the blizzard it seemed like there were many restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay again.

Decent and historical hotel in a good location.
We stayed here one night while going to a concert. Got a great last minute deal online through a consolidator site.
Interior was very historic and pleasant. Rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. Check in and out were swift and easy.
Location is very good, being that its right on the freedom trail, close to the common, china town and easy access to the T.
Would go back if the deal was good. An all round good option.

Location is very nice and the friendly staff does whathever they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

However I experienced the smallest rooms ever, in any hotel in the US. Small even compared to European standard!

The other issue is valet parking at USD. 40,- pr. night at at least 20 min. to get the car!

Room Tip: Check with reservations what type of rooms and most importantly size.

It's a fact that our historic building has rooms that are smaller than modern hotels but we believe that our great location and friendly, experienced staff give our guests an authentic Boston experience. As to the parking fee, it is the second-lowest valet fee in downtown Boston and we always advise guests to allow 20-30 minutes for car retrieval as we must with the narrow streets and traffic common to our location.
