We booked this hotel as a last minute type of thing, and we were happy with our decision. The hotel lobby is charming, and all the staff we came in contact with were very nice. The rooms are just like every other upscale Boston hotel, very small, old school feel, but clean. The bathroom was tiny but clean and updated. The bed was extremely comfortable. It is in a great area around state street, and in walking distance to fanuiel hall.

When we arrived we could not find the parking garage so we decided to valet. The next day when we went to retrieve our car the valet told us the car had a flat tire. Of course this annoyed us because the tire wasn't flat when we left it with the valet. Although this was an extremely annoying thing, it really was just bad luck. The valet got the manager we all went over to the garage and the manager in his suit actually tried to change the tire. He was unsuccessful so we had to wait for 3 hours for AAA, but the point is he really tried to fix the problem he didn't simply say 'well that's the risk you take parking valet'. He also comp'd the charge for valet ($40).

I would stay at the Omni again, good service, great location, and nice rooms.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a bigger room.

As usual, my stay at the Parker House was as pleasant as it has been for the past 20 years. The staff is as friendly and knowledgeable as they can be. The upgrades to the rooms & amenities bring this Grand Old Hotel into the 21st century.

Recently stayed at the Omni Parker for a downtown business trip. Have stayed at other Omnis before and been very pleased. However this one is past its prime for sure. The lobby is spectacular and the staff extremely good and friendly but the corridors and rooms are on a par with a jaded Comfort Suites (sorry Comfort Suites), at least on the 4th floor where I was placed. Wallpaper peeling in the rooms, small shower, no bath, cracked tile etc. It was clean but well past its best. Would not stay here again until renovated, there are far better, far more up to date hotels at the same price and I can walk in the Omni, marvel at the lobby and then leave!

As we've said before, the historic nature of our hotel is not for everyone. We appreciate this reviewer's business and hope that he will give us another try in the future.

I surprised my husband for his 50th birthday celebration. We stayed overnight at the Omni Parker House and went to see a musical. Entering into the hotel was so impressive - old world grand! The desk staff were very friendly and engaging. We had a king sized room which was decorated nicely, the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The room had a great view of King's Chapel and the Old State House. The room was on the small side, but it is a hotel from the turn of the century, it felt it was just the right size. The hotel surprised us with a bottle of bubbly and two delicious Boston cream pies (the official Massachusetts dessert) and a 50th birthday card signed by all the staff. That was an amazing gesture and we were truly appreciative.
We ate dinner at the Parker's restaurant in the hotel. The wood paneling and ambience were very elegant. We were given the table where John F Kennedy proposed to Jackie! We were also given a little card to read about the incredible history of the hotel. For example, Malcolm X was a bus boy in the restaurant and Ho Chi Minh was a pastry chef in the kitchen! We had a pre-theatre dinner menu. The food was delicious. The famous Parker rolls were warm and yummy. We absolutely loved chatting with our waiter, Franchesco. We were taken very well care of and felt very special. It was only a 10 minute walk to the Boston Opera House from the hotel.
I would highly recommend the Parker House hotel and restaurant. It is important to support these historic hotels and preserve the beautiful workmanship of the buildings.

staff is very friendly, hostel is in a great location on a historic area and rooms and very clean. i think the only down-point in the room size but the view from my room over quincy market made me not even think about that.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a window view.
