“Five Star Service”
Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

I stayed here for 4 nights because of the location and despite some unkind reviews on this web site. I couldn't be more pleased. Room service and the hotel restaurant were excellent! The bar was very enjoyable and energetic. My room was spotless, and the maid service as good as it comes.

The front desk extended my stay twice without flinching or changing the price (even though they were fully booked dor the Boston Marathon).

Kudos to this 4 star hotel for providing me with a 5 star stay. It was more than I would have ever expected!

The location does not justify the price. Stay somewhere else less expensive that can access Faneuil Hall and the Freedom Trail by the T. The concierge was not really helpful when we asked for recommendations for places for dinner, and the Bellhop didn't even seem to know how to get to Boston Commons or the Freedom Trail by foot.

Perfect if your going for the aquarium or Quincy market or the freedom trail. All within a 5 min walk. Got a nice deal on Priceline. Then upgraded for $50 to a huge corner king suite with a sofa pullout that was more like an apartment than a hotel room. Paid$265 for a room that goes for $550. Definitely get an upgrade if traveling with children. Wink wink.

This hotel is close to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall but in walking distance to all that Boston has to offer. As soon as you enter the hotel you are greeted with a smile. Our room was enormous with many windows which let in plenty of light and the beds are the most comfortable I have every slept in. I could not fault anything. Everything was very clean and nothing was a problem to the friendly staff. I am travelling to Boston in November and am looking to return to this wonderful hotel.

Rooms are clean and staff is great. I was upgraded to a corner room and it was huge!! Beds are soft and love the lights built into the headboard - great for reading! Large workdesk. Room had frig which was a nice bonus. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Short walk to most places, including the BOS train station. Room service was $10 fee plus 18% gratuity, so I opted to walk around the corner to Panera.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are huge

We stayed here for the first time a week ago, April 3-7 2014. And the short review is that we could not have been taken care of better, and were very happy with our stay. We are a relatively picky family. We travel with 2 teenagers, a two year old, and a 3 month old, so not having issues with our hotel is always a huge relief and can really make the trip even more special. That's What Hilton Downtown Faneuil Hall did for us.

We were travelling for our 2 year olds birthday weekend. We go to Boston often, but had never stayed here before. I read some of the reviews, and saw that the Manager, Brian, had often responded to them, so I took the liberty of writing him an email to "beg" for some special requests that I thought would make our lives easier. I also had a couple of concerns based on a couple reviews I had read.

Brian responded immediately and granted all of my requests. It was a huge relief to know that we did not need to bring pack and plays along, and to be ensured that our 2 rooms would be adjoining. Seemingly small things that make a huge difference when you are waking up at 3am to fly with two back- talking teenagers and 2 needy babies and the numerous dirty looks you get from people on the plane when you travel with kids. It was nice to not have any stress about our accomodations.

We arrived very early in the day and were greeted by a fantastic staff, particularly the doorman on duty, Barry, We valet checked our luggage and went off for the day. We love to eat, so proximity to Quincy Market was awesome. Proximity to everything was really fantastic. We walked everywhere of course, and even our laziest child didn't complain. The walk to the Children's Museum, the North End, Fenway, TD Garden were all within a reasonable jaunt. We really liked the location. There is a Dunkin Donuts nearby, Quincy Market ( along with a few random quick service delis and salad restaurants in close proximity as well) Our kids love the variety at quincy market so I cannot speak to the restaurant or room service quality, but the bar looked very popular with a slightly younger crowd on the weekend.

We returned to the hotel to check in and EVERYTHING was PERFECT with our rooms. They were adjoining as promised, We had two pack and plays. The rooms were completely clean and the space we had with our adjoining rooms was great. We even had a welcome surprise and a card, that really hit the spot. Brian even emailed me while away on his own time off to ensure everything was taken care of. He was terrific!

The pack and plays were clean! If you are a mom, you know this is a rare occurrence but there are few things better. They looked brand new. I was so pleased with this since many hotels have dirty pack and plays. The toiletries are Peter Thomas Roth, so you can leave your shampoo and conditioner at home. This stuff will actually leave your hair and skin looking great, unlike most hotels' awful soaps.

I had read about sound issues with the rooms, and this was a concern of mine as we did not want our teenagers disturbing anyone. We had no issues with this whatsoever (and did not receive any phone calls complaining about us). We are pretty loud, so I think you can put your mind at ease about this. We had no security concerns. We felt very safe in the hotel an walking in the area, even walking at night. I had also read that some updating was needed. I did not find this to be the case. We thought the rooms were kept very well, and we did not see any issues at all with the property.

Another note, I saw another review say that Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall is two miles away. This is not Correct. I believe google maps shows on the walking map it is 0.4 miles. It is a super short walk. less than 5 mintues.

My husband had some business to take care of while we were there and they have a library off the foyer that was perfect for his meeting.

We will definitely stay at the this property again, and cannot wait to go back!

I stayed at this hotel over a weekend and was very impressed. Our room was large and comfortable and very clean. The hotel was in a great location, within walking distance of a lot of Boston's sites, lots of great places to eat, and the T. It was pretty cold when we were there, but taxi's were easily available. The bar at the hotel was really fun too. I thought it would be a quiet hotel bar, but it got really packed on Saturday night! The food was also good. No complaints for this reasonably priced hotel in a great Boston location!
